DevaCurlUltra Defining Gel (355 ml)

I have type 3C, dark blonde, top of the boob when pulled out, length hair, humidity changes the amount of fuzz! Also used in conjunction with DV No-poo and One Condition. (reviewed seperately)I ditched the Moose after 30 years! This feels sticky on the hands, trial and error with the amounts to use (Heaped 10p size for me) too much could make it heavy on finer curly hair so be careful. Definitely defines the curl more, I usually get more frizz on the ends where the hair is dryer, this has not happened. Odd to use after so many years of hair moose but worth the money. After applying the gel then wrapping is a soft towel I also topped up with the Supercream Coconut curl (See seperate review). My hair is so much softer and looks in better condition.

I love this gel! Expensive but worth it in my opinion. I co-wash (wash with conditioner) or use sulphate free shampoo then follow with this. I used to use all sorts of products...serum, mousse/gel, finishing product...but this is the only one I use now. I gently squeeze my hair dry with a microfibre towel or cotton t-shirt, apply the gel then diffuse or leave to dry naturally depending on how much time I have! It can leave your hair slightly crispy, especially if you leave to dry naturally but you can gently scrunch or run your fingers through to release this and it holds your curls well.If you're going to try this, I recommend reading Lorraine Massey's Curly Girl Handbook or doing some research online about how to treat your curls. I really wanted to like it, but it dries so hard and crunchy, and then stays that way even after I scrunch it. Still waiting for NYC Curl gel to make it to Amazon UK. Do like the DevaCurl No Poo though, very good product.

As a natural curly, I have been after the 'perfect' curly hair product. I've spent a fortune on products and a friend mentioned she'd seen a great review on this deeva curl gel. I thought I'd give it a go. I always use mousse as a base as my hair can get very big! So I moussed first, then put the gel on. I probably could have used a little more, I dried crispy so I scrunched it out. I had perfect curls!! I couldn't believe it and my hair was soft and not hard. The next morning I woke up to a decent hair day! (Usually I look like and electrocuted poodle!) a little water spray and one pump of my tigi foxy curls cream and... Day 3 my hair is better than ever!!! Perfect fullness, fabulous defined curls and soft!! So I'm delighted with this product! The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that I had to use mousse and my tigi cream. But, my hair is better than ever! How did I not know about this gel before?! Photo attached is day 3. Only a tiny bit of frizz which some water spray will fix.

My daughter has very curly hair (just past her shoulders) and this is the only product that makes her hair look manageable and nice looking. I can always tell if she runs out of this product because her hair will look dry and messy. I have just received the new bottle for her and am pleased that there is actually a product that works. It is difficult for her as her hair has always been an issue and she has spent a small fortune on products only for them to land up in the bin. It is best to save up for this than spend money on products that don't define and moisten your curls and leave your hair looking beautiful.It is expensive but it is worth it.

Makes my hair so sticky and horrible. I used Deva Curl No-Poo, One Conditioner and the Ultra Defining Gel together and I don't even like touching my hair once it's dry. I spent a lot of money on these products hoping for miracles, and I did keep using them for about 6-8 weeks (I know they said give it time), but honestly I'd take a bit of frizz and soft-feeling hair using "normal" products over the horrible straw-like sticky mess these products made my hair. So disappointed :(

WOW! This product is amazing. I've been a user of Aveda Be Curly Curl Enhancer for 12 years. I've never been able to find anything that came close, until this. Ordered it Friday, had is on Saturday and went out with the most amazing defined curls on Saturday. You do have to use it as directed though and fluff it up once it's dry, that gives volume and gets rid of any crunch leaving soft bouncy spiral curls (well for me it did). I'm a total convert now and ordering another bottle today as a standby! I've now also ordered the conditioner. Check out the Curly Girl Handbook, it really helps with naturally curly hair technique. Another point, I was short on time, I always am, so I used my diffuser on really low heat to speed up the process and then massaged the roots once done, I also dried my hair mostly upside down.I hope this review helps.

I'm not sure if I'm using it wrong but it just doesn't do much for my curls. Ot barely holds the curl and by the second day my hair looked undefined and tangled. I must say however, that it smells really nice and you do get a lot of product. But, I still don't think it's worth it. Save your money and get yourself something better.

This stuff is so nice , smells great too . Keeps my curls in place

Me sirve mucho en mi cabello mis rizos se definen mucho más fácil. Yo lo ocupo junto con un live-in. Me duró casi 6 meses la presentación de 12 oz.

Ich bin sehr begeistert! Ich habe 2c/3a Locken und es definiert meine Locken so schön ohne sie zu verkleben! Ich war vorher mit meinem Kinky Curly curling custard zwar auch zufrieden, aber das hat meine Haare doch ziemlich verklebt und spätestens nach Tag 2 verknotet. Das Devacurl Gel ist da wirklich anders! Es ist von der Konsistenz her für ein Gel ziemlich flüssig und verklebt wahrscheinlich deshalb nicht die Haare. Meine Locken sind definiert und haben einen wunderschönen Glanz ohne diese Kruste die manche Gels hinterlassen. Meine Locken halten mit diesem Gel locker bis Tag 5/6. Ich bin sehr zufrieden und finde es sehr Schade, dass das Ultra defining Gel nicht in der 900ml Flasche angeboten wird.
