This doesn’t seem to play new vinyl has anybody else had this problem?

Using a cardboard cut out to lift the record makes it play new stuff very well

The sound quality is adequate for the price you are paying. It will never be the same as you might be used to on a regular hi fi, playing cds. It was never an issue when I was younger and I don't worry about it now. I do play records with he volume control turned up high. There Is the option to add external speakers via the line out sockets and there is also a head phone socket , which I haven't used yet. There is no auto return arm. There are 2 settings (on/off) in the off setting the record just continues spinning even after the end of the song but in the "on" position I have found that some of my singles stop short of the end of playing.I now the switch in the off position.
