I looked in the supermarket and it was comparable in price to other mixes for the quantity. The sponges turned out to be beautifully light and fluffy and the children who bought them loved the taste. My daughter combined it with a simple vanilla butterceam on top. She received lots of compliments as it was a bit of a novelty. Needless to say, they sold like hot cakes ( big eye roll!) . They were simple enough to make- two methods are listed on the box. My daughter just made the one with added oil(vegetable for us) and eggs. Traditional size cupcake cases I made 18, but the children found that the cake was too small to go with the amount of icing needed to cover the cake. I have since used muffin cases and we made 12.
