The 1st Fitness DVD I have stuck to. It’s brill!
I know I have probably been living under a rock but this is the first time I have come across Joe Wicks. I actually bought the DVD because it was cheap and I wanted to dip my toe into the World of fitness without spending too much money.I was a bit apprehensive at first as I have tried out a few fitness DVDs in the past and I generally find them hard to stick to, difficult to keep up with and generally can be a bit annoying.I have been very pleasantly surprised with this DVD. It’s brilliant. Although I run around after the family and do quite a bit of walking, my fitness isn’t brilliant, so I started on the easiest work out, which I managed and felt motivated about doing again because I could actually complete the 15 minute set.The DVD consists of a number of different 15 minute workouts from beginner upwards, a warm up, and a cool down. So the whole exercise session probably takes about 25 minutes in total, but you can choose which level of exercise you wish to do.It’s high impact fitness, where Joe explains how to do a number of 30 second bursts of exercise with short rests in between to catch your breath. As I have mentioned I am sticking to the beginner workout for now until my fitness improves but I can really feel it begin to work. Even with the beginners workout, my heart rate increases, I’m sweaty at the end of it and my achey muscles are telling me they are having to do some work.Joe is really motivational and explains how to do the exercises well. This is the first fitness DVD that I have actually enjoyed doing, and will go back for more as I can feel results from it.Go on, it’s only a fiver and it’s worth it.

Effective workouts
I like that the workouts progress in difficulty. So far I've got up to level 6. I really like the variety as well. Level 4 (I think) never does the same exercise twice and I find it flies by much quicker than the ones where you repeat sets. I like that there is a warm up and cool down segment on each workout, too.My only beef is that Joe is sometimes not good at giving a cue that he's no longer demonstrating and the working section is about to begin. You're still sitting catching your breath when suddenly he's five reps in to the next set and you have to rewind! He doesn't use his timer in the video so you can't hear the beeps.I feel like I will have reached peak fitness when I can do all of the sets of squat jump/donkey kicks - it feels impossible!

Highly recommended!
Fantastic DVD. Joe is encouraging and as it is all done in real time you feel as though you are working out together; he is honest if he's struggling and encourages you to dig deep and 'get it done' if you feel like quitting. I have experience in HIIT training so moved through levels 1 and 2 quickly; level 3 however is a real challenge and I can see myself staying on this level for two weeks instead of the one week I spent on levels 1 and 2! Level 3 has great full body exercises that raise the heart rate and get you SWEATING! I have done HIIT both in gym classes, bootcamps and at home and can say that Joe's workout is as good as any others I have done, if not better. I love the fact that there are levels to it, the challenge to progress through them and up to the Winners Workout is a great motivator if, like me, you're competitive, plus it means the DVD won't be come boring too quickly as some others can.

Great for motivation
I'll start with being honest, I'm not fit. Last time I exercised it was march last year (14 months ago). But that's because I was pregnant and having a physical job did not have the energy for exercise as well. Post baby I put exercise off again and again. It's may and I bought the DVD on presale! Naughty me!Anyway I picked my wedding dress up this week and realised it fits... woohoohoo you might say but no the dress is plus sized and I do not want to be plus sized on my wedding day, in fact I intend on that dress being altered considerable in size!So my point is... I am lazy, I've been eating poorly most of my life, I mean most of my meals are healthy but I eat takeaways a lot! Plus I have a mummy tummy.I'm telling you all this because I need to get across how unfit I am so I can honestly say that you do not need any level of fitness to start this work out. Some people have claimed you need to be reasonably fit for even level 1. I say NO! This simply is not true! Sure it's hard, it's HIIT training, it's supposed to push you to your limit, that's the point of it! But it's only short bursts of exercise and sure Day one was tough, my coordination or lack of it let me down and I struggled to get through it... but i did get through it! I'm on day 2 now and I smashed it even though I did Pilates in the morning and this DVD in the evening! The good points:• it's hard but not too hard.• Joe is very motivational.• exercises are explained and demonstrated well.• no stupid music• it's quickThe bad points:• Joe is a lot more serious in this than you expect him to be. Not really a bad point but I'm struggling to find a real one.Overall after 2 sessions I think it's great!
