SANSCO All-Metal Housing, 8 Channel Wired CCTV Camera System 1TB Hard Drive

We've always used wireless cameras in our front garden, but with the wind and rain we get here in the UK, the signal is always patchy—especially at night when I want to watch the footage back, it's always terribly laggy. This time I've decided to switch to a wired AHD system, and I've set my sights on this model with its all-metal casing—and it certainly hasn't let me down.What I'm most pleased with is the colour night vision. There are no streetlights in my back garden, so previously it was all black and white once night fell. Now, this camera actually produces colour footage in pitch darkness; you can clearly make out the colours of clothing and the outlines of objects, making it much easier to identify people. What's more, the dual-light illumination is very smart—as soon as it detects a human silhouette, the camera automatically turns on its light and switches the recording to full-colour mode. This feature really does act as a deterrent and is far more practical than standard infrared alone.Furthermore, the wired connection has virtually zero latency; the live feed is smooth and real-time, and playback is seamless too. I no longer have to worry about Wi-Fi disconnections causing me to miss crucial footage. Overall, given the build quality and performance you get at this price point, I think it's excellent value for money. I'd highly recommend it to anyone who wants to avoid the hassle of wireless set-ups and is looking for durability and effective night vision.

This is an easy to install camera,with very clear images for the price paid.I had a slight problem with one camera after 5 months,contacted Grace at sansco and sent me a replacement camera which arrived within a few days,The customer service was excellent.Have used different sansco cameras for years and find them very reliable.The night vision on this camera is better than you normally find in a camera in this price range,overall a very good purchase,with motion detection depending on your dvr

I don't often write reviews but I do believe this deserves one. I'm a very techy person and I got this CCTV as I've always wanted a system for a while now but haven't got round to it. I chose this one as it came as a complete set with the hard drive, I also preferred the dome style cameras.The cameras:-I was incredibly surprised by the build quality of the cameras. I wasn't expecting such good quality for the price But the cameras are solid metal and heavy- The image quality was again above expectations for this price. I could easily pick up number plates at the end of my property- The camera unscrews from the mount, which allows you to screw the mount in place, then add the camera. This prevents someone from unscrewing them.- The camera also swivels in all directions which was easy to do. Once it is in the right position you just screw it tight and it wont move anywhere!- It comes with three screws and also raw plugs if you want the camera mounted to a wall.- The camera has approximately 50cm of cable before the plug, This helped me massively as I installed my camera in the plastic overhang of my house. So the 50cm of cable sat inside the overhang of the house which was waterproof ,then from there i connected the main cable to the DVR.The DVR:- Firstly the interface is advanced but simple- It works just like a computer, it has a mouse and an interactive interface. Theres an option for almost everything- I set my cameras to record all the time, but also to record motion. I liked the idea of this as if the motion didn;t pick something up I could still watch the footage bacm. The playback bar also shows where motion was detected, this is marked in red (as seen in the photos) so you know exactly what time motion was detected- I liked how you can set motion zones so you can exclude certain areas where the camera wont trigger from.- There is also an option where if motion is detected on one camera, you can set other cameras to start recording too- There is an option to notify you by phone if there is motion and also if the camera feed stops or is covered by something like spray paint- Without writing everything you can do, theres enough features to do pretty much whatever you wantOther good points- It comes with a remote control to control the DVR, also comes with batteries- DVR is small which is good to hide in your house somewhere- I contacted support and they replied quickly- Came packed really well!A minor negative:Only three screws came with each camera but there was four holes. However, I juts used the three screws at that seemed plenty enoughIn conclusion:I'd definitely recommend this as a CCTV systems. The quality for the price is brilliant and does everything I needed it to do

I’ve been really impressed with this CCTV system. The cameras produce sharp, clear 3K footage during the day, and the colour night vision is much better than I expected, making it easier to identify people and vehicles after dark. The full metal camera housings feel solid and well made, and the 1TB hard drive provides plenty of space for continuous recording. The human and vehicle detection helps reduce unnecessary alerts, and the remote access through the app lets me check my property from anywhere. Overall, this is an excellent security system that offers great value for the money, with reliable performance and easy installation.

Fantastic cctv especially for the price.I bought the 4 camera system that has the ability to expand to 8 channels. The system is that good that I have already added another camera.It is hard wired to the Ethernet hub, you can have it hdmi connected to your tv and view it via their free app.The way you can set it up is brilliant, motion alerts, vehicle recognition and more.A great feature is that when it detects motion it takes a photo as well as constant recording, so you get face shots, car shots and more and at night the led lights turn on, great deterrent.Definitely highly recommend and compatible with house, flats and more.Very easy to set up, easiest I’ve installed.

I purchased this 4-camera system to improve my home security by covering the front, rear and sides of my property. I have never installed a CCTV system before and I was very pleased at how easy the whole process was. I purchased Sansco's 4-camera CCTV system with dome cameras based on reviews I had read and I have not been disappointed with my purchase, which I think is great value for money, and it is a really sophisticated piece of kit with lots of features.I intentionally avoided purchasing a wireless based system as I wanted a solution that would not be susceptible to signal reception issues. The 4 CCTV video/power cables provided with the kit were plenty long enough to cover a large 4-bedroom detached property with cameras covering all external sides of the property. I ran the cables up through the eaves and across the loft and into an upstairs cupboard where I have the DVR located.The dome cameras do require a bit of patience to position them but you have an almost unlimited possibilities of angles to choose from. When doing high-ladder work, it does help if you have already setup the DVR recorder, connected it to the Internet, and installed the XMEye phone app on your phone (I was using the Android version on a Samsung S8 phone) as you can tinker with the camera position before tightening up the fixings.I mounted each camera on a Diall Grey 57A Junction box 100mm which I purchased from B&Q. The beauty of doing this is that I could hide the short cable that comes out from the back of the camera, which has a BNC connector and round power connector at the end of that cable which needs to be connected to the long cable that you need to run back to the DVR. I drilled a hole through the cover of the Diall junction box, poked the camera cable through it, and then mounted the dome base to the cover. Doing it like this simplified the mounting process for the camera and should I need to replace a camera in the future, it makes it very simple to remove the camera.Setting up the DVR was very simple. I do work in IT and as such, I did not need to read the manual to configure and install the system. The interface is pretty intuitive and I really like that you can download a desktop client software (CMS) to your computer and configure and manage the DVR from there if you don't want to do it directly from the DVR. I didn't know CMS was available so I fully configured the system directly on the DVR but I have subsequently tinkered with my settings using the CMS software.A few of the best features of the DVR are:1. You can add up to 4 black rectangles (any size) per camera if you need to blackout or redact areas that you do not want to capture on camera (e.g. if you are camera is picking up your neighbours garden).2. NTP - you can configure a public network time server so that your recordings will always have an accurate time stamp which is really important if you do need to refer back to the cameras3. You can add a label and time stamp on each camera and you have the flexibility to position this to any location that you wish per camera, which is extremely flexible4. XMEye phone app is really good and gives me a lot of comfort that I can take a quick peek if we are out for the day or away for the weekend that all is well at home5. CMS application is also extremely useful as you can use that to playback footage, download video, and fully configure the system. This means that you don't need a separate LCD monitor or worry about locating the DVR in a location where you can easily get to it. You do need to do the initial configuration on the DVR but once it is connected to your home network, you don't really need to touch the DVR. Please note that the DVR doesn't support wireless and does need to be connected via an ethernet cable. This wasn't an issue for me.6. Night vision is pretty damn good - our road is pretty dark at night and yet you still get a pretty decent picture in black & white. It still is never going to be as good as the footage you get during the day time when the picture is in full colour but nonetheless, for the money and size of the camera, it is pretty impressive!7. I did need to reach out to Sansco support and found them to be excellent and responsive. Support was done via Facebook messenger via a link on their website and I got timely responses back.Word of caution. The system does have motion detection but if you are placing the cameras externally, don't have too higher expectation on the motion detection. Yes it works, but it will also provide a lot of false positives. You can alter the sensitivity but ultimately, this is using digital motion detection which is not the same as an IR detector like you get on a security garage light.In summary, I can't believe how good value for money this kit is considering you are getting a full home security kit. Hopefully, it will act as a good deterrent too and will mean I have a bit more peace of mind when my property is not occupied.

Paid £200. 8 Channel. Used with 1TB HDD, Western Digital, bought separately for £38. Used in UK.The good.- Relatively easy to setup, if you're IT and cable minded.- Image quality good. Night vision good.- Camera quality good. All cameras been out in the pouring rain (albeit under soffits), and a strong summer, for 18 months and have never failed. Spiders seem to love them btw.- Cabling quality good.- Box itself is a cheap, lightweight thing pretty much identical to all the other budget alternatives.The Bad-Clunky, old UI with a lot of broken English; the system and the free App.-App frustratingly bad on Android. Connection seems to fail, delays, cameras not connecting. Switching resolution sometimes helps get cameras feeding again, but why the hell am I having to do that. Some hours it works better than others, so I presume it's a contention ration with the app. I've given up using it.Seems to work better on an iPhone, but still bad.- Have to keep updating the time as it desyncs a full minute every few days.- The system randomly reboots itself. This has got worse the longer we've used it. Some days it will reboot 10 or 20 times, and other days not at all. This is not dependent of ambient temperature.- Has in the last few months started to fail to record. No idea why. Just misses random hours or even days. We at one point realised it hadn't recorded for an entire month. A reboot fixed it. But it's steadily got worse and is now unacceptable. System has also frozen a couple of times when trying to playback.The hard drive was brand new - I suspected the drive, but to be honest with the system being as glitchy as it is I'm not going to mess about any longer.To summarise, if you simply need a multiple feed to a big screen it's pretty good. If you need decent App support look elsewhere. If you want a rugged, decent system prepare to spend more money.Personally I just about got my monies worth for over a year, and it was an education, so I'm giving this 3 stars instead of 2.It's a budget option, but if you really value your security it's worth spending at LEAST double on a home or small business solution.
