Does exactly as described!
I really like the temperature control settings, so I'm no longer burning my more temperamental green teas. I haven't tested it with a thermometer (I truly can't be bothered), but I do know that my teas taste sooooo much better more consistently. This is a minor gripe that I have, is that there isn't a setting for herbal/flora teas, but I'm pretty sure the boiling setting works just as well.I haven't used it for coffee yet, but I'm sure it'll do just fine.If you're going to boil water, make sure you keep an eye on it, because it's a legitimate roiling boil and will "burp" out water from the spout.Other than that, I think it's a great kettle overall (including the strainer) and think it's a pretty easy to use device.

Great kettle!
We use our tea kettle multiple times a day. My husband is English, and hot tea is a must in our household. We have gone through several electric kettles. They tend to last us about 2 - 3 years. Some we have liked more than others. We were extremely impressed with this kettle. It has a substantial base. Unlike other kettles we've owned that had flimsy cheap plastic bases. We love that the buttons are pressure activated. There are no moving parts to break (think touch screen-esque technology). It boils water quickly and quietly. I will say we were a bit kettle challenged with our first attempt to boil a pot of water. Pressing the start button once turns on the pot allowing you to pick the desired tempurature. You then need to push the start button a second time to actually begin the heating process. White lit start button for setting the temp, red lit start button means the kettle is heating. My only con would be the lid. Whilst it fits securely, it's not a hinged lid. You must remove the center locking core to fill the pot, then reposition the center core and lock it into position. It's a minor nit-picky complaint/inconvenience. I highly recommend this pot. We like it so much, we have ordered a second one to tuck away for future use. The $20 in app coupon made that a no brainer.

Quality item, simple features, easy to clean, love it!!
I spent a lot of time looking for a quality kettle like this one. It's really well made. Has simple easy to use controls. And is a breeze to clean! I like that the lid has the option to open a "small part" of it. This allows you to quickly add water or put in your tea leaves for the infuser. When you want to clean the inside of the kettle, you can lift the "whole" lid off very easily, pour in a little bit of distilled white vinegar (just enough to cover the bottom of the kettle), let it sit for about 5-10 mins, swirl it around, rinse with dish soap, and you're done! This is a quality product and I hope it lasts us for many years to come.

Serious Tea Drinker? Keep Looking. An Unbiased Review
The media could not be loaded. First I want to explain what made me try this. Looks - a plus, I needed a kettle that would deliver accurate temperatures for my different teas. The infuser a plus, because I often don’t infuse my tea into the kettle I boil in, I use a teapot. But I did buy this because of that feature so I could have a bigger pot of tea on occasions and hold it at the temperature.Pros. It looks nice. Comes to temp fairly quick. My precious kettle was faster (no longer made). I like the separate base. It has a wide mouth to really clean the inside well. Has different temps for different teas and has a hold temp feature.Cons. The way the top goes on is odd - and unsafe. It’s like a vacuum seal which I can see failing. I think it’s made of silicone. Doubt it will last long. See my video. There is no filter to catch any sediment that might be in the water (not a big drawback for me but for some it may matter). The biggest issue for me is if you are looking to Infuse your tea in the kettle - this is not the kettle for you. Unless you’re not a tea snob. The way the infuser attaches is from underneath. You can’t drop it in. Therefore you have to do one if three things.Add the tea leaves and infuser into the water while it is cold and heating up (tea aficionados know this is a no, no). You must also leave them in. There is no way to remove them unless you take the whole top off. Now your leaves are in their designed water for way longer than they should be steeped.Option two - let the water come to temperature, take top off which is not easy- it will be hot, add the tea leaves, wait the steep time, remove top again (again it’s not easy - it’s hot) remove the infuser, replace top. I’m exhausted just writing that.Option three - use a separate teapot. You should be able to drop the infuser in and remove infuser from the top without having to remove the whole top of the kettle. Not to mention, trying to get that top off after it has come to temp is seriously not safe. Very hot.So I hope that explains the issues with infusing tea for this kettle. If you are only looking to boil water there are much cheaper options. There are also plenty of options to prepare water to specific temps. If you’re not a huge tea snob bring your fresh water to a boil and let it sit for 10 minutes and it should be fine for green tea - no need to buy specific temp kettles.Sadly, this is going back.

Nice kettle, beeps are a little irritating
This kettle has convenient, sufficiently accurate temperature settings for a variety of teas. The temperatures I have measured are within a few degrees of the settings. It also has a setting for coffee. It is a little slow to boil, compared to my previous one, which was 25 years old when it wore out. My only complaint is the beeping. The beeps are not loud, but there are too many-one when it comes on, one when temperature is set, three when temperature is reached and one when it goes to sleep. These can be muted, but they come back on again when the unit is unplugged and plugged back in. Other wise I am happy with it. The glass is a little trouble to keep clean, but looks nice as the water is heating up. I have not used the tea infuser or the keep warm function as I only use it for heating.
