Brilliant works well

First, an obligatory warning. Be very careful around any UV light sources. DO NOT EXPOSE the light on your body and definately do not look directly in the light when its on. Whilst this may be low powered, its still can be dangerous if missused. I have had to dock a star as there was no warnings or provided information about handling the device. Use with care, and be VERY carefull if you have children! I purchased this for a simple, but specific task: To be able validate authenticity of Bank notes, and other important documents, by using the UV light to show and highlight anti-counterfeit UV markings typically embedded into such documents. For this purpose it works extremely well! I have tested against the following documents: - UK Banknotes (plastic) all current banknotes should have a UV reactive number of the note value on the side of the king/queen at the top center where "Bank of England" is written. I have included a photo of it in action. The phone camera used has made it look a little dimmer than it actually is. In reality, when help close to the note, the imprint is bright and clear. Perfect. - Passports. This light perfectly highlights the UV reactive fibres and designs embedded into modern passports perfectly. - UK Driving license. I can see some very impressive designs hidden that show up under this light. Again impressive performance here. The actual build quality seems very durable, and is made of metal. Not sure of the waterproofing. Its range (power, distance) is not great, typically ideal for close use for a area of about 10-15cm2. However, for this use case its perfect. Just repeatign the warning this is not a toy, and should be used with care.

Speedy delivery and I'm happy with the product at a good price

Ordered for pet urine as the product title states, after using it and it not showing urine where I know there is, I googled it. The 395nm is not great to show pet urine. You need 365-385nm. Don’t buy for urine. 3 stars as it does turn on just doesn’t do what it says and I should have researched more before ordering.

There are some negative reviews saying this is not a UV torch but just a blue light torch! - What nonsense! Some say it's very dim in daylight!! I really wish people would do some minimal research before spouting on and slating this UV torch for no reason. There are even those giving a negative 'review' because it's smaller than they expected! Seriously? Anyway, this is a true UV torch, not just a 'blue light'! This is very apparent when scanning it round a room, as white and fluorescent objects zing out. See my photo of the security markings on £10 and £20 notes, only visible with UV light, being illuminated with this torch. It's a lovely little thing, nicely constructed, and feels solid. It takes one AA battery (not included) and the battery life seems to be good. It has focussing ability by pulling the front in and out - so the UV beam can be made more concentrated or wider. The light is powerful enough for the intended purpose - I have no problems with the light spread and brightness. I can also confirm this will successfully set UV plastic resin quickly - which is great. One thing to note, of course, is UV light is bad for the eyes, so no staring directly into the torch. This is a great UV torch and thoroughly recommended! I got this on offer at around £7 - an absolute bargain!

Good value

Terrible. Not convinced it's actually a UV touch. I bought a different one the day after which is magnitudes better.

As many others have noted, don't expect a hotel room to light up bright from this like in the movies. If you look carefully you'll notice that those people use several very large UV lamps. But in a completely dark room if you look carefully it will show many spots you didn't expect to be there. And also with your toilet it will definitely help you gone your cleaning techniques. And the most fun at all: we've recently had a long power outage and if you'll point it at a bottle of Tonic Water, it will definitely light up a room. Overall, good value for money.
