BORA Saw Plate RT - NGX Circular Saw Guide Plate for Clamp Edge Rail 546001

Great addition to my wood working tools! I previously purchased the NGX rail guide and alone it was a little unstable. After reading reviews I decided to add this Saw Plate to the Rail Guide to make the use of my circular saw more safe, more stable and more accurate. If you have the rail guide system buy this saw plate too, it makes a huge difference.

I wanted to share my experience with using BORA tools recently. Overall, I have been very impressed with the products they offer. However, I believe there are a few areas where improvements can be made. Firstly, I feel that BORA tends to release their products too early in the design phase. This can make it difficult to determine which item is the newest model, as they frequently change and upgrade their products. For instance, when I purchased the first item, 544001, it was good, but I encountered an issue with it not accommodating the newer battery-powered circular saw. The battery blocked the rear clamp from engaging and being grabbed by hand. As a result, I had to return that item and purchase a different one that worked with my circular saw. I'm happy to say that this particular model worked wonderfully, although I did face some challenges with the rails. Thankfully, BORA quickly sent out a solution based on my suggestions, which resolved the issue. After applying the new parts, I had no hassle and the tool worked like a charm. While I appreciate the responsiveness of the company to inquiries and their willingness to listen to customer feedback, I do believe there is room for improvement. Specifically, I think the design could have been sturdier and could benefit from some sort of frame to enhance stability during setup. Additionally, I found the setup process itself to be quite challenging, partly because BORA lacks comprehensive instructions for their products. These factors are why I have deducted one star from my rating. Despite these shortcomings, I genuinely believe that BORA is a promising company and is heading in the right direction. They are receptive to feedback and even implement changes if they make sense. Granted, they may be a younger company, but they have the potential to grow and improve. I fully support them and look forward to reviewing more of their products in the future. For those considering purchasing a BORA tool, I recommend thoroughly examining their full lineup to ensure compatibility with your particular model saw. In my case, I used a RIDGID 18V BRUSHED 6-1/2 IN CIRC SAW (Model Name: R8655). Unfortunately, it did not work with the first model (544001), but it did work with the one I eventually purchased here. The issue may be a biological one (between my brain and the product) but the saw continues to slip around so the measurement is continuously off and sometimes halfway through the cut. I have tried putting in a stop block to help but that didn't help either. With it slipping, the distance from the edge of the board to the Bora straight edge - the width between the edge of the guide to the blade continuously changes. My cuts are continuously off by 1/16th - 1/8th of an inch. For now, I'm just using the straight edge but not returning the product to see if I can figure out why this is happening. This isn't that complicated.

Works perfect with my dewalt saw.

Easy to get your saw in and out. Fits in like a glove with the Bora NGX rail. Moves smoothly along the rail and guides straight. Much, much better system than the Kreg Accu Cut. Great alternative to expensive track saw systems. I also recommend the Bora Router Guide that you can use with their rails. Cut many superbly accurate dados with that one.

I have yet to make a straight cut with the Bora Saw Plate RT. The clamping system consists of a shallow ratchet system with a plastic lever to lock it. Try as I might, the plate just falls of the majority of the time unless I support it from the bottom with one hand and handling the saw with the other. Once the plate is engaged in the track's notch, I've had the saw slide sideways on the plate as I'm cutting. IF I continue to use this, it appears I'm going to have to rip some shims and fasten them in place to keep the saw from moving across the plate. For the price, I am very disappointed.
