I am a new gardener is this the right type of spade to remove shrubs?

Dependant on how big the shrub is dig a circle of soil from around the shrub and expose the roots, cut through the roots with an axe and then remove shrub. Dont chance trying to cut through thick roots with this spade, even though it is of a high quality.
