Wenger Ibex 600638 17 Inch Laptop Backpack, Blue

If you are looking a laptop bag that provides incredible capacity, many separated compartments and is built to last - no need to search further. I read all the reviews on Amazon before buying this bag 6 months ago and it lives up to all of them. What do I carry in this bag - two 15" laptops with power supplies, a Kindle, noise cancelling headphones, power pack, kensington lock, bag of cables for all eventualities, pens, travel documents and one set of spare (lightweight) clothes when flying ... total weight usually over 10kg. In 6 months I have travelled internationally, using this as hand luggage (don't check the valuable stuff :-O ) and the same number of internal flights - this bag works fantastically. What is so great? Organisation - with all that stuff I can still find every item easily, there are 4 main compartments, 2 internal zipped compartments , +3 external 'small' compartments and 2 elasticated side pockets. The main laptop section secures two laptops and Kindle and PowerPack - at airport security they slide in and out really, really easily, which makes a big difference in that queue. There is a net pocket here that will hold power supplies and stylus so they are 'to hand' but won't fall out at security. The array of smaller zipped pockets ensure that I can drop my other valuables into the bag knowing they won't fall out whilst I am pulling the laptops in and out. There is one 'top' zipped, mid-size pocket that will hold passport, wallet, watch, security pass, shades, small cable, loose change, etc. that is incredibly useful. Downsides - it is a little heavy, I would not want to weigh this bag at check-in; when I pack all this stuff in it would probably not fit into those 'carry on bag gauges' (but might with a squash) but have never been stopped; there are a couple of zipped pockets so small I have never found a use for them, and the elasticated side pockets are not big enough for Camelback water bottles (my go to hydration packs) but many of the new aluminium, insulated drinks bottles fit perfectly. After 6mths - I have no serious complaint, nor are there any problems with zips, stitching, or material - simply the usual scuffs of daily use. Would I buy again - Yes - there is no doubt I would buy again, but not expecting to require that bag for many years! After 12mths of regular office use and four business trips there are no signs of wear, everything works just as day one, the plethora of zipped pockets and slip in pockets continues to amaze me, and organise as many as three laptops plus PSU, cables, mice, USB Power pack, etc. Copes with 15kg+ of bits and pieces. Continual use right up until "lockdown" this bag completed international trips, carried a huge load, without missing one stitch or zip problem. I would buy again but don't expect to need to for many years!

I needed a backpack that would hold my laptop and its accompanying stuff, as well as various stuff that one needs during a trip. I was impressed by the numerous positive reviews of the Wenger backpacks and decided to give it a go. All I can say is that it was an excellent choice. The backpack is very sturdy, it has lots of storage space and most important it is easy and comfortable to carry, even when fully loaded. My current laptop (a 15-inch Dell XPS) fits very well and it seems that it there is space to fit a larger one (which might be the case for me quite soon, as I intent to get a new 17-inch laptop). It also seems to provide quite good protection for the laptop with all these padded areas around it. I've been using it for about 6 months, have made a few trips, mostly by plane, and the backpack is as new - no signs of wear. The zippers work without problem. It's size is not a problem; granted, it's not a small backpack, but still it looks smaller than it actually is. Furthermore, it fits to the overhead compartments in the planes (Boeing 717 and 737, Airbus 319 and 320) without a problem. Things I didn't like: When I put the laptop charger in the net pocket on the top of the last compartment (the one that holds the laptop), it seems to not leave enough space on the top pocket (next to the handlebar). If you put enough stuff in one of the front compartments, then the next compartment is quite cramped. All in all, it is a good backpack and I am happy that I got it. If only I could remember where I put my stuff - I need a map to find my things in those countless pockets. UPDATE: after more than a year having this backpack I do not regret buying it in the first place. It still is in excellent condition, even though I've used it in numerous trips/travels. Highly recommended and I'd surely buy another product from this manufacturer if needed.

I have just purchased this backpack from Amazon.co.uk, quite simply its the best back pack Ive ever bought, the quality of Wenger Swissgear shows in the product design and materials used, you can easily fit at least 2 laptops in it if you wanted too, it dwarf's a 13 inch Mac Book Air, plenty of extra pockets all over the back pack, the special security pocket in the top near the carrying handle is great for your passport, wallet, tickets etc, and keys, you can get to them quickly, and you hardly know the pocket is there, secondly, there is at least 3 sections on the front for all your accessories, power cables, mobile phone, other items, and what I like most about the backpack is that its comfortable to wear, the straps are strong, and easy to adjust, and it fits nicely on your back, I think this backpack would be great for photographers as well, as a photo journalist back pack, the other main feature is that you can carry also a change of clothes in it, and the back pack actually stands up, this is great in airports or when your in a cafe or something like that, it sits nicely on the floor, without falling over, there is a hard piece in the back on the floor of the pack, that allows it to stand up, it seems to me Wenger have thought of everything, the main carrying handle is robust and a nice touch is the trolley strap on the back, and a slot for your headphones to come through without showing your MP3 or iPod to the whole world, and running the risk of having someone snatch it. At a cost of around £52.00 from Amazon, its well worth the money, and you won't find a better back pack.

Don't let the price put you off. This is one fantastic bag. It is tough, stylish, spacious and comfortable no matter what the weight. It has been designed really well. The shoulder straps are padded and back are padded with a special foam that allows comfort and allows the easy passage of air so sweat evaporates easily when things get heated. There is plenty of space for your stuff. It has a 23 litre capacity, and the bag itself isn't too big. It can easily fit a 17 inch laptop into the laptop compartment or 2 15 inch ones and the laptop compartment is also padded for safety. The backpack also has a self standing mechanism which means no matter how much weight you put in, it will never fall over if you put it on the floor or on any flat surface. There are 2 compartments on each side for water bottles which can easily store a pringles pack each or a 2 litre bottle each. There is a specialised compartment for stationary as well. All in all four different compartments for different stuff. In conclusion, every single part of this bag has been specially engineered from the zips to the padding for the laptop to the reinforced strap capable of handling any weight to the stitching for the straps capable of handling any weight. This is a very highly recommended buy and is worth every penny.

I survey buildings for a living, I work inside and outside and carry everything I need in my bag. This is a large day-sized bag which fits a large laptop, paperwork, lunch box, drink, hand-tools, ipad etc. It's a great laptop bag for anyone with a lot of other stuff to carry. I can stuff my jacket in there too if it gets too warm. It has a large laptop compartment and one big storage compartment; each of these has a tall thin "slot" which is great for holding documents flat. There are several smaller pockets with the front two having internal dividers and a particularly useful pocket on the top. It is well made, much better than most. It is designed to stand up on its own which is very useful, but will fold fairly flat if needed. The air flow back does help but as you might expect it doesn't completely eliminate a sweaty back in warm conditions. I think the "shock-absorbing" straps are a bit of a gimmick, you can feel the bag move up and down when it's heavily laden but it doesn't really assist in anyway, I think I'd prefer not to have them and just have the bag move with me but it's not a deal-breaker. I've been using this bag for a few weeks now and in summary I'm extremely happy with it and would definitely recommend it. UPDATE: Had this bag two & a half years now and it's taken a lot of abuse. The zip on the front pocket has broken and the trim on the inside edge of the right shoulder strap is coming off allowing the elasticated section to pull away from the rest of the strap - Eventually the strap will fail and the bag will be finished. I'm convinced this bag would be better without the "shock absorbing technology" but otherwise it is held up very well.

Fantastic backpack, very well made, loads of space and pockets.

I was sceptical about finding a bag that would hold my MSI GX660 BEAST of a gaming laptop (not 17" but thicker than just about every other laptop, so I needed the space). I needed something that would also hold a lot of other stuff - camera, change of clothes, jacket, mp3 player, documents, food etc. I almost opted for a Lowepro bag, but felt they were too heavy on the camera emphasis. I own a digital SLR, but really needed a space that wasn't exclusively for an SLR, but lots of other things too. This bag seemed like a slightly less pricey, and slightly more ideal solution, so I took the plunge and bought it. Within minutes of opening the package I realised this was going to be IDEAL for my needs. A good size, about a million pockets, but more importantly, a decent bit of non-specific storage space for things like a small SLR bag, a jacket, documents etc - you get the idea. I'm doing a lot of travelling at the moment, and this is pretty much perfect. It's super-robust, stands up on its own quite nicely, so no awkward leaning or weight distribution due to the laptop being heavy. It's comfortable on my back, and the straps are very good - despite not looking like great straps in the pictures I had seen, they are excellent - this was one of the other areas I was worried about, since I think straps are often overlooked - but not to worry these things are ON IT! I don't have any quibbles as of yet - it's all been perfect so far. Space for everything, comfortable, not crazy-bulky either. I'd highly recommend this if you've got a big or thick laptop, but need additional space for other items too (not just a couple of cables and an mp3 player!)

Although expensive this is an excellent product. I wanted a backpack in which I could carry my tablet PC safely, overnight clothees and sponge bag, iPod, mobile, paper, chargers, files, and an assortment of "office stuff" (pens, rulers, sissors, post-it notes, etc). This is it. The problem with it is that you can put so much into it it's heavy and hard to put onto one's back (I'm well into my 60s so maybe ..... Although it isn't overly large in height and width, when loaded it is quite deep front to back so much so that it won't go on the floor between the back seat and back of the front seat in a car. It is very well made and this shows. It has a lovely feature whereby the base is stiffened so that it will stand up ALL THE TIME. And if you want to squash it flat when empty, the stiffner can be folded up. Inside, it not only has the 4 main pockets ranging in size, all with double zips, it has 3 more external pockets for smaller items such as iPod/MP3, but also 2 webbed pockets for fluid bottles. Inside there are numerous internal pockets, some zipped. I've lost countless things inside!! I have been away for a few days with a 50mm lever-arch file, tablet PC, 3 mags and a book, my Kindle, Ordnance Survey maps and a London A-Z, a change of clothing including trousers and shirt, night attire, sponge bag, A4 filofax, "office stuff", 2 wine bottles and a few plastic tumblers, water bottle, chargers for mobile, iPod and 10.1-inch Tablet, tea bags, and still bought and packed a few odds and ends whilst away. It is easy to carry although if well loaded the straps seem to constrain my chest when walking. Nothing too bad though. I haven't tested its waterproofing ability although I have had it out in rain and there was no sign of fabric or zips leaking. Tesco have a token offer on Wenger gear at the moment including a trolley case which we're looking at and a backpack, although not this model. Final words - go for it. John

Estuve mirando varias mochilas antes de decidirme por esta, necesitaba una mochila espaciosa para usar a diario y llevar libros, el portátil, la comida y a veces las cosas del gimnasio, pero también necesitaba que fuera suficientemente grande para usarla en viajes cortos. Tuve bastantes dudas y estuve viendo vídeos en youtube de varias mochilas para hacerme una idea más "real" de como era cada una. El problema que veía en todas ellas era el hueco para el portátil, mi portátil es un hp de 17,3 pulgadas y las mochilas que estaba mirando eran todas para ordenadores de 17 pulgadas. leí los comentarios pero tampoco me quedó muy claro si mi ordenador entraría o no. Finalmente me arriesgué y decidí coger esta mochila y el resultado ha sido mejor de lo esperado. El portátil entra perfectamente, si es verdad que los bordes se marcan un poco en la mochila debido a su tamaño, pero ésta no solo cierra perfectamente si no que además puedo meter mi portátil en una funda de neopreno y, esta vez sí un poco más justa, la mochila sigue cerrando. Además de poder transportar mi ordenador, la mochila es suficientemente amplia como para llevar todos los trastos que tengo que llevar cada día, y aunque aún no la he usado en ningún viaje, he hecho alguna escapadita de fin de semana y tenia espacio de sobra. En algún comentario leí que entraba agua por los agujeros de la parte delantera, yo la he usado en dos ocasiones en las que llovía y no he tenido ese problema. En todo caso si entrase agua no pasaría del primer bolsillo. Los materiales y los acabados de la mochila son muy buenos y gracias a los tirantes reforzados la mochila no pesa tanto o al menos a mí los hombros no me duelen, cosa que con la anterior mochila que tuve era imposible. En cuanto al tamaño, solo puedo decir que es muy majo. La mochila es bastante amplia pero no tiene un tamaño exageradamente grande, es perfecto. Desde luego recomiendo esta mochila a todo aquel que esté buscando una para usar a diario y para llevársela de viaje. La calidad es muy buena y puede que parezca un poco cara, pero si realmente vas a usar la mochila a diario tienes que procurar mirar por tu salud y, sin ninguna duda, la calidad se paga. Yo uso mochila prácticamente todos los días, por eso no me importa pagar un poco más si cuando llego a mi casa por la noche no me duelen ni los hombros ni la espalda. Espero que esta opinión sea de ayuda.

Je suis très content de mon achat! Je suis développeur et suis amené à beaucoup me déplacer et toujours avec ma machine. Celle ci est un 17.3" et je dois quand même regretter que c'est juste juste .... Sinon, sac avec de très belle finitions. J'avais un peu peur que le design ne soit pas très "tendance" mais au final sa sobriété est parfaite et assez discrète. L'espace disponible est ahurissant (actuellement ma machine tout mon câblage deux gros dossiers, ma gourde, mon déjeuner... TOUT rentre! je découvre tout les jours de nouveaux accès pratiques (trou à destination d’écouteurs accessible depuis deux poches, crochet pour clés ..) Un très grand plus pour la petite poche supérieure qui est un four tout idéal pour se libérer les mains et les poches . J'épprouve actuellement la robustesse et j'en suis très satisfait, je recommande

Eu adoro essa mochila, é a minha segunda. MUITO resistente, mas, ela também é pesadinha - mas, ela é bem estruturada já levei muito peso mesmo e com o meu computador sem dano nenhum.
