How flexible is the blade?

The blade is pretty flexible though I don't know how your might rate or quantize this. If you want an in-depth answer try searching 'spring steel'. Scrapers tend to be blank-cut which means that they don't have a worked edge like a knife does. I always work the edge with an oil stone to give a slight gradient of maybe 80 degrees then hone. If you do this it gives you a sharper side edge and a blunter, more gentle side edge by flipping the scraper over. I also round the corners so that it doesn't gouge.
