A Great Buy
I am really pleased with this watch. I love the plain white face and simple silver "numbers". It was very easy to set the time, day and date and it powered up immediately, although I left it on a windowsill for 24 hours just to be sure. I find the day and date quite easy to read. The watch is less heavy than I expected and is a pleasure to wear. The linked strap is also remarkably comfortable, though I did have to have three links taken out by a jeweller, which cost me £15, rather more than I expected (I was dubious about conflicting reviews claiming that you can or can't remove links easily yourself, so I played safe, as it was new and I didn't want to start off by scratching the strap). There are luminous strips down the centre of the hands, but they are very thin so the night visibility is limited. An excellent watch which seems to keep good time. It was delivered quickly and without any problems.

Lovely little Seiko !
Lovely little Seiko watch, very accurate so far it's keeping perfect time after a week it hasn't lost or gained a second. I love automatic watches but they are just not as accurate as quarts, well not in this price range & the solar charging makes this a perfect set & go watch. It comes on a decent bracelet that's easy to size but I've put it on a nice Laco pilots leather strap. I find the watch very easy to read even though it's a small watch & my eyes ain't up to much theses days. The smaller size gives this watch that classic look & feel. On the down side it's only water resistant so no swimming or taking a shower with this watch & the lum isnt up to much, basically useless really, but most dress watches are the same so that doesn't bother me. All in all its a lovely little watch that fits in nicely with my collection & will get a lot of wrist time. I'm very happy.

A lovely watch
This is a lovely watch, manufactured to Seiko's usual high standards. My last Seiko lasted 36 years and would probably have lasted much longer if a shop hadn't made a mess of changing a battery. I had to alter the bracelet as it was too big, but that was easy enough and, yes, mine does have luminous hands and hour markers. Delighted!Update: And it keeps very good time. Still delighted!I still love the design and feel of the watch but, after just under 12 months, mine kept stopping at 11.30 pm. This was in July in the northern hemisphere so daylight hours wasn't a factor. Returned to Amazon who gave an immediate refund so I bought a replacement in the hope that my experience was an aberration because it really is a beautiful watch.

Classy product
Great product, classic styling. Arrived very promptly. Nice to see a solar watch with a clean white dial. Most have a dark blue or black dial. Needed to remove several links, as I have a very small wrist size, was able to do that myself. Very accurate, lost only 3 seconds in the first week. A great product from Seiko with no batteries to replace, a great bonus. Saw it in local jewellers for £50 more than the price on Amazon.

Seiko mens solar watch.
Totally satisfactory after 2 months use. Very easy to read dial and date. Keeps good time. No problem keeping charged - normal use seems quite okay. Considered very good value for price paid. Taking links out of the bracelet a little "fiddly" but managed alright in the end. Recommend buying the proper tool.

Clear & elegant
This is a lovely watch, elegant and great to use. It remains to be seen whether it keeps an adequate charge long term considering my mainly indoor life (though I do like to get out in countryside as often as possible and in the sun if it's on offer). Perhaps another user might let us know their experience. I really don't want to charge the battery up off-wrist periodically.

"Design is the King of consumer goods." But Seiko still doesn't know it..
The quality is not a problem. The design is. It feels that the designers at Seiko all died at least half century ago, and now the company is run by the random wit of a 100 year old uneducated person. If you compare its extremely poor designs with those of any other new brands on the market, you will know Seiko's design has stopped somewhere in the 50s or 60s.

Replaced Seiko battery quartz I had for 46 years
As the headline says, this solar-powered Seiko classic design has replaced my old Seiko which had finally given up the ghost after 46 years continuous wear. Naturally, it was quite a wrench to give up my old very familiar watch. This is quite similar in look. I dithered over the automatic or solar versions and opted for this one as I didn't like the maker's caveat that the automatic movement could lose 25 secs per day. Maybe not such a bog issue but I didn't want to be fiddling with it every few days to keep the correct time. This solar version charges the battery, although I have yet to see if my normal daytime way is sufficient to keep it charged adequately. From other reviews it appears that this is not an issue. I had to have two links removed by my local watch repairer to make the band fit. There are several videos on YouTube explaining how to do this, but I did not find them clear, helpful, or even altering the same design of band. Paying a fiver to have it done properly was money well spent. There were no instructions included with the watch, just the usual multi-lingual manual and EU-valid guarantee.
