Great first scanner
This is my first foray into the digital scanner world - I've previously had fiddly analogue airband radios. I initially chose this model because it was one of the reasonably-priced models with a number pad, making it ideal for inputting frequencies directly. I spent the first evening using it in conjunction with the manual. It does take a little investment time to work out its logic but once I grasped the principle of 1. search 2. Hold an active transmission and 3. Store it, then the scanning feature came into its own and it's straightforward to use thereafter. I love it that it just keeps looking for active transmissions (an obvious feature for experienced scanner users but a novelty for me!). Although I bought an external antenna I don't think I needed it. I live in the Rhondda and could pick lots of pilot chatter from planes flying in and out of Heathrow and through London Control airspace using the supplied rubber-duck. I also bought the Frequency Guide 17th Edition and am never without both. One negative - it takes an age to charge the batteries so I'm considering getting a separate battery charger. That aside, I would highly recommend this nifty little device.

Cracking scanner.
Really great scanner. It's my first one and it's easy to use but with some useful features. Having a keypad is pretty essential as far as I can see so this gets the nod over the lesser model IMHO. I use it to tune in to civil aircraft channels for plane spotting and air shows. NOTE: It does not cover military frequency ranges.

Great scanner for under £100
Excellent hand held scanner with a good range of functions and frequencies.Easy to set up if you buy the ARC75 Software (about £22) otherwise you need to put each frequency in by hand.Reception is clear and scan function works well.

The scanners airband coverage
This has to be the best handheld scanner .It's coverage of airband freqs is truly remarkable. Living in Belfast I'm picking up transatlantic aircraft upto 200km aways cover the Donegall coast and south of Sligo. Plus all local ATC movements.

Great scanner at good price
Great scanner and a good price fro this supplier,,, For some insane reason the same receiver is for sale for 200 to 250 from other suppliers on amazon. So buy off theseAnyway the receiver is off really good quality, the buttons have a nice feal and the screen has a good resolution with an adequate backlight. It covers all the action bands. Although this unit is evidently designed for the states. Its easy to enter your own search limits and systems. It does only come band plan 1 and 2 compatible but band 2 is fine for the uk. for you air band chaps, its pretty good and does support 6.25, 12.5 steps. very handy pocket size also
