I am looking for a sequential number stamper that I can use on xray film. Will this ink hold or will it smear on this type of material. Any ideas?

I'm not sure, would it depend on the ink you use? Because the numbers on this stamp are made of metal, they don't hold the ink very well. The numbers are very faint and sometimes missing sections. The seller would probably be more able to help this type of specific question. Sadly, there aren't any alternative stamps that automatically rotate like this one does, so even though I'd never recommend it, you might not have much choice.

Does this repeat the number asI need to stamp two documents with the same number

/hi, yes it looks like it can be set to repeat the same number two or more times if required. There is a slider bar on the back that can be set to 1 2 3 4 5 6 or 12

Is it possible to reset the numbers back to zero?

I use an envelope opener to manually put the numbers to 0000. Remember though that as you release the top that it will turn on one so, if you want to start at 0000 you will need to reset it to 9999.
