ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 Hero Intel® Z790 LGA 1700 ATX motherboard, 20 + 1 power stages, DDR5, five M.2 slots, PCIe® 5.0, Thunderbolt™ 4 USB

I bought this motherboard because I wanted one that had coolant waterblock made for the VRM (EKWB does it). Whilst it most definitely satsfied me in that regard, the specs are also impressive as it comes with 5th gen PCIe slots, DDR5 slots (and dashing 256GB RAM capacity!), and gen 5 NVMe slots. I updated the BIOS and used XMP2 profile, then tweaked CPU clocks a little bit. No issues with the MOBO itself so far, a bit annoying that it won't see keyboard from USB hub for the BIOS, but maybe one day ASUS will address that trivial issue. If you have high performance setup this MOBO will not only serve you well, but do more, and it is a great investment also because it is ready for next gen tech (whenever they come out, prob in 2025). I highly recommend getting VRM and PCH (chipset) for this MOBO as they tend to run red hot!

Top quality and aesthetics, full of features, interface includes more connections and ports than required by the average user. Only problem is the 4090 is very thick and interferes with the second PCI that I could use for M2 additional NVMEs.

Works great and the gpu pcie button should be included with all motherboards it's brilliant 👏

board itself looks real nice however when i went to install the CPU i found quite a lot the pins are bent making the board completely unusable.... no option to get the board replaced so having to return the faulty one and buy another having to wait for the refund to process. Update: 2nd board now where as this one didn't have bent pins and seemed to work fine only to find the LAN does not work at all even after installing drivers and trying multiple other things to try getting it to work. contacted Asus support and they were useless. turns out a lot of people have had the same issue where the LAN port just doesn't work and its a super common fault with the board. For a almost £600 motherboard and especially from Asus i would expect better. after this im never going near a Asus motherboard again and gonna be hesitant with there hardware in the future

The product was faulty, one of the error codes was (16),there were many more also. Looked on forums and it seems to be a common fault. Would be a good idea to test these correctly before sending from USA to UK. So now I'm stuck on building my PC until the new one is delivered. Let's hope this one has no error faults. Otherwise my next review may not be as polite.

Vengo de usar toda mi vida componentes de msi pero está vez decidí armarme una pc completamente con componentes asus, sin duda no me arrepiento de nada y valió cada centavo, muy bonita tarjeta madre con un rendimiento muy bueno. Recomendada totalmente, estética de 10, excelente componente para armar una pc de gama alta y también me gustó mucho la bios de asus.

Honestly love this motherboard, it’s absolutely gorgeous and solid features. Only thing I wish it had was native 10Gb Ethernet. Great upgrade from my Asus Hero VI.

I absolutely love my new build. I did return the first board cuz I saw there was an issue with it but I was wrong... it was just an issue in settings. It took almost months to get the refund but I am very happy I got my money back. I did reorder the same board and installed in my build.
