Q: Is this compatible with a Ducati Monster 821 (2017)?

This connector did not fit my ducati 749/999, the pins were way too wide

Q: Is there any free or low cost software I can use to reset the airbag light with this and connected to my pc?

Yes, look for INPA. I got my software for like or $35 or so. I am assuming a BMW. I have a 98 7 series and INPA can reset all lights. Google is your friends here.

I can't say for sure. I know it will interface with mid-90 models ('96-97) Don't know about earlier models. OBDII came out in '95 on a lot of automobiles. Not sure about BMW

It was also too wide for my 2008 Hypermotard 1100
