Brilliant all round book of knots
This book is a must have for anyone into macrame. It builds up from using single knots repeatedly to form cords to using them in multiples to create broader more textured fabrics . It describes how to read the knot symbol shorthand along with a pattern and calculate the amount of cord required depending on the knots being used. From there it becomes easy to create your own patterns. An ideal first book from which to create a sampler and then move in different directions.A few of the samples were tricky to see against the busy fabric backgrounds they were photographed on. But this did not spoil the overall presentation of the book. It is the best macrame book I’ve come across. If only more books were available in this format

Seems perfect
I'm new to Macrame, only ever really made a couple of plant hangers using 2 or 3 different knots. This book (from just flicking through) seems to have a lot of information and step by step instructions for different knots and different patterns. I'm looking forward to starting with it.

A very good investment !!
I taught myself to macramé during lockdown on YouTube then I purchased this book which I refer to every day; it has everything you need to know from the basics, types of threads, tips and tricks, lengths of cords needed, trouble shooting all the way to patterns that you can improvise on.I would recommend it to anyone interested in Macramé, beginner or advanced alike.

For me, this is one of the best macramé books I have seen
It is unique in its approach by having a large number of sample panels of knot combinations producing "fabric" specimens in a manner which made me think of one of my wife's knittig books which also concentrated on stitch combination to produce patterned fabrics, as opposed to garments. The use of symbols for knots is also something not seen elsewhere, and reaches a new level where they are cmbined to codify the construction of the fabric-sample panels. My main criticism us that the colour photographs of these sample panels could have been printed larger on the page and against a plain background, since I found them indistinct when I tried to confirm the finished appearance against the pattern "map".As a traditional (Scouting background) knot tyer, I have a general complaint about the knot names used by macramé authors. The same knot often appears with a different name in different books!

A bit disappointing
Bought this as it sounded good, but diagrams are not very clear and there weren't that many different knot ideas to a beginner's knot book I'd bought previously. It was overall rather disappointing but I've yet to find a really good macramé book.

A simple and beautiful introduction to Macrame.
Beautiful book and extremelly well designed. Every possible project is made perfectly clear through symbols or illustrations. The works depicted in the book are also very beautiful and sober, most of them done with natural components, unlike all other macrame books i've seen until now - where fluorescent pink plastic strings meet horrible sparkling plastic beads.I am taking my first steps in macrame and this book is all i need for quite a few months (it doesn't have that many variety of knots but it opens up a lot of possible combinations). I would love to have a book done with so much attention and love as this one but with more content - more knots and more projects; but then again, after we grab the basics we just gotta use our imagination.
