Fantastic product regardless of price.
I have left it a year to write this review, as I can’t see the point of a review until a product has been tested. Well I have tested this big time!I used to have an ex-Forestry -Commission professional Husqvarna chain saw, which served me well, but finally died.In June last year, I had a massive bough, from an equally massive oak tree come down, which covered an area the size of a tennis court, and was 36 inches diameter at the fractured end.I urgently needed a large powerful chain saw, saw this, and thought at that price I will be happy if it lasts as long as required to finish the job.I was impressed from the start. The product was well packaged, arrived promptly, and looked and felt very good quality. It even came with a clear colour handbook, in proper English.Easy to assemble, it fired up first time, and over the next few months I set about my task. I used both chains, sharpening both twice, before discarding, and buying a further 2 chains (£6 each). In all the time I was using the saw, if fired up every time cold or hot, something my Husqvarna baulked at! If I had to move some logs, I didn’t mind stopping the saw, in the knowledge that it would start on the first light pull. The saw cut like a hot knife through butter, and when it came to the trunk, I really had to put it to the test, having to cut through from both sides, because even the 20 inch bar could only reach half way through. I had a few mishaps, requiring the use of a heavy jack to free up the saw, but each time, it came out unscathed. After all this work, apart from the paint worn off the cutter-bar, the saw looks, sounds, and works as good as new. This is a very good quality product in its own right. For the price, it is ridiculously good value for money.I would buy another one tomorrow, but I don’t have to, because mine’s still perfect.

Very impressed!
Bought this to replace an old Spear and Jackson 14” chainsaw and have been really impressed. Easy to put together, very easy to start and supplied chain performed really well. Cut up a fallen tree, which was about 2 feet thick and it handled the job with ease. Nice and powerful and really good value.

Thought my Volvo had lousy fuel consumption...
...until I used this chainsaw!Other than that, (I had to juice it three times in an hour), it seems like a pretty good saw.Out of the box, it's reasonably simple to assemble and anyone competent with a spanner shouldn't have any issues assembling the blade to the machine. Admittedly - I am a man and I may have let my entire gender down here - I DID read and follow the instruction booklet. I know, what a wimp!Once I had assembled it and filled the fuel/chain lube reservoirs, it started first time. I had read previous reviews about NOT using the choke and away it went on the second pull. I put a little more 2 stroke in the first fuelling just to be on the safe side, but on subsequent fuellings I adhered to the mixture directions.Using it was simple; undoubtedly, a chainsaw is probably the most dangerous tool the average person is likely to use and treating it like a tiger with a toothache sitting in your favourite chair is a very good idea. I don't mind admitting that this tool frightens me and that is why I'm typing with my fingers and not a pencil jammed into the stumps of my shoulders. Respect is everything. The tool cut through some quite thick, but reasonably soft, tree boughs with little effort - I reckon the width was about 18 inches in places, but this wasn't teak wood - but when I was cutting thinner - about 9 inches - harder wood, it did struggle a bit.It did it, don't get me wrong, but I seemed to be using a tad more effort than I thought I should.I also cut up some pallets and shed sidings and these were relatively easy but we're talking a max of 2 inches here.Overall, the machine is easy to use - it's light and manoeuvrable - and works at all silly angles. I used it sideways as well as vertically.I don't have a need for regular use of this machine, it was purchased for a specific job which it completed to my satisfaction. If I can add one thing; I strongly recommend the proper safety gear to the level you can afford it; I was only using gloves and when the branch I was cutting fell and bounced off the fence, catching me a glancing blow on the side of the head, I then spent twenty minutes looking for a lens of my glasses which popped out. Had I been wearing goggles or a hard hat, I wouldn't have had to fish around in the crap looking for the lens.

Brilliant Bit Of Kit At Bargain Price.
I bought this to deal with a large tree branch that had fallen into our garden. It arrived quickly, was simple to assemble and after following the clear instructions it started first time. I was able to reduce the branch into a large pile of logs with the greatest of ease. One thing that wasn't clear to me at first, but after I worked it out it should have been obvious and that was how to tension the chain during use. The instructions explain how to tension the chain at the assembly stage but I didn't realize that to do it each time the clutch cover retaining bolts have to be slackened off, the chain adjusted and the nuts retightened. Basics really! It comes with a good quality carrying bag, chain guard, two chains, a fuel mixing bottle, a DVD as well as a instruction manual and a neat tool kit with everything needed to carry out simple adjustments and maintenance on the saw. It doesn't come with any chain oil in the reservoir and fully synthetic two stroke oil is recommended. Both of these I also bought from Amazon. The mixing bottle has clear increments for the petrol/oil mix which is in the ratio of 25-1. One full bottle of fuel mix completely fills the fuel tank.I was considering hiring a chain saw for this task but for the money I paid, £89.95, I think it's an absolute bargain, in fact the price belies the quality of this saw and I'm sure it will give good service.
