MasterClass 20cm Non-Stick Round Sandwich Cake Tin with Loose Base

Another lovely baking tin from Masterclass.I now have 4 different Masterclass baking tins. They are definitely my go to manufacturer for baking tray items.This is a 20cm/8 inch round tin, with a removable bottom (Photo).2 of these are what you want for making a perfect sandwich cake, such as a Victoria sponge.The tin itself is well made. It weighs in at 400 grams, so has a bit of weight to it.It's made from 2 different thicknesses of steel. With the sides being made from 0.6mm steel, and the base from a more hefty 1mm thick steel. That may not sound that thick, but it is more than adequate for this type of baking tin. There is zero flex in the tin.It has a depth of 3.5 cm. Perfect for one half of a sandwich cake, but equally great for pies and flans. It makes a perfect lemon meringue pie.These type of removable bottom tins, are, in effect 'sealed'. The bottom makes an extremely good fit with the lip of the base. If you fill it with water, there will be some slight dripping, but with a cake mix, it is practically sealed and drip proof.Although, as I'm cautious by nature, it would probably be best to line with parchment/greaseproof paper, if you had a very thin and runny mix.The tin does have a non-stick coating, although I always give it a wipe around with an oil before pouring in the mix.As you can see from the photo, the whole bottom lifts out, so removing the cake is very easy. Once cool, just push your hand up through the middle, or, if the sides are a little sticky, place the baking tray onto a food tin, and gently work the sides off.Overall, this is another well made Masterclass baking tin, that is a great and useful addition to any collection.I hope you found this review helpful.

A good sponge tin a bit expensive for me as I thought it was for two .my mistake I didn’t look properly

I've made several cakes since acquiring the tin and all have been very good tasting cakes. I have tended to line the base with a piece of greaseproof and not had major leakage - only some small drips into the gap. This is a properly heavy tin and should last for years - cakes take a bit longer to cook as the tin is so heavy weight compared to thinner fixed bottom sandwich tins. It does seem to need extra greasing on the sides to what I would expect. I've found the cake hasn't always shrunk away cleanly from the sides of the tin in spite of the non-stick coating and greasing so some outside edges of the cake have been less tidy, which has been a shame as they were cakes that weren't to be iced. Overall I am very pleased with the tins though. The packaging was a bit quirky so there was some glue residue on the tin that needed scrubbing off before use. I would have washed it anyway but the glue was a nuisance.

Excellent quality and cooks a fat less sponge brilliantly no sticking and very easily cleaned. A good weight and with loose bottoms makes the turn out easy

At last, a decent quality 'Victoria Sponge' style sandwich pan.I was pleased with the quality - nice and heavy, and the finish is pretty good too. The bottom slips out easily and I can't fault it. I think it will be in my cupboard for a long time and get a lot of use.Although I wanted 8" (I couldn't find this make in that size), I was surprised at how much mixture the 7" can hold - it's a bit deeper than it looks on the pics too.I will certainly purchase this make of bakeware again.- - -NB: Wanted to add that well over a year later and after plenty of use this product still as good as new. Fabulous quality!

These cake tins are just superb. They are very solid and I can see them lasting a life time and being able to pass them on to my children. As they are so sturdy they do not buckle in the oven and ensure the cake bakes evenly in my fan assisted oven. The loose bottoms fit nice and snuggly. They are a perfect size for more elegant looking 6 inch cakes rather the the usual 8 inch. Perfect if you are baking any of the amazing cakes in Miette my favourite cookbook at the moment.

Well made cake tin cake came easy

The pans arrived on time and first impression when opening the box was that they were a quality item weighing heavier that the average tin. However I was extremely disappointed when I came to remove the label. It was stuck on with a glue that was extremely difficult to remove. I tried to carefully remove by hand but would not budge. I soaked it to no avail. I did finally manage to remove it but in doing so also removed some of the coating. I would not have complained if it was only on the underside of the tin but it was also on the inside which will be used for cooking the cake. For this reason I would not purchase again.

Needed a more deep pan

注文して2週間位で届きました。コーヒー&ウォールナッツケーキを作るために購入。質感は日本のケーキ型より厚くしっかりしていて、マーブルストーンのフライパンのような感じです。底取れタイプです。2枚組ではありません。今までは普通の深い型で焼いて半分にしていましたがイギリス風のケーキはパウンドケーキのようなレシピなので、深い型で長く焼くと、ドーム型になって表面が割れて、外側さくさく、内側しっとりになってしまい、何かが違うと思っていました。焼き上がりの写真を撮るのを忘れましたが、レシピ通りの時間で仕上がっていい感じです。次はビクトリアンサンドイッチに挑戦しようと思います。2020/03/21別の生地ですが焼き上がりの画像を追加しました。

Me encanta la repostería y he comprado y probado miles de marcas de moldes pero ninguna como ésta, te aseguro que tienes moldes para toda la vida si los cuidas, no se pegan, no sé deforman, son perfectos
