Use Blue E-G only on aluminum. It is not intended for use on any other metals or materials. Blue E-G can change its shade of blue depending on how long it is in the dye bath. It can be a pale grayish blue if you do a shorter anodizing cycle. For a longer duration in the anodizing bath and in the dye bath, Blue E-G will look like a vivid sky blue. The anodizing process parameters have a significant impact on the properties of the oxide formed. This means that the color is dependent on the anodizing process. Blue E-G is RoHS compliant. Anodizing is an electrochemical conversion process. Anodizing changes the outer surface of the aluminum. Anodized aluminum has different characteristics than raw aluminum. Some of the characteristics of anodized aluminum include durability and weight. (It is lighter weight than stainless steel.) The process of β€œanodization” creates a thick oxide layer.
