I alternate this product with my normal shampoo and leave it on for 5+ minutes. It gives my hair a very nice icy champagne tone when done. I usually use Fanola because Fanola gives very intense purple tones, but it’s so incredibly drying. This Milk Shake product is not drying on my hair whatsoever. I make sure to use a conditioning treatment instead of regular conditioner as well. It’s also better than the Olaplex, Pureology and Joico purple shampoos. It smells just like grape juice or grape soda. But you don’t smell it in your hair after it’s dry. It’s also VERY black.
