Works well

I'm fitting some smart light switches to electrical back boxes that are not quite deep enough. These easy to fit spacers provide the extra space I need.

As described. Does the job.

Did its job. Make sure your securing screws are long enough to engage in back box.

I bought this thinking it was grey !!! - didnt read the small print as it arrived white ! ... no point sending it back so will use as and when ... maybe they should have been designed that they could be multi stacked so one can use 2 or 3 to pack the switch out to enable the cables to fit behind or offer different depths 10/15/20 mm but a good altn that smashing the wall deeper and buying a 35mm insert.

Perfect fit for a smart light switch which had too much electronic gubbins to fit onto the existing pattress. We were fortunate that the rounded corners were an exact match for the switch, otherwise it might have looked odd. Good cheap solution.

This works well with the BG Evolve Touch Dimmer, where for me the depth was borderline but I needed the wider solid surround to get rigidity against the backbox as the switch rear is smaller than the faceplate. It was a perfect match for width x height, but I'd like to be able to buy this in 5mm depth instead of 10mm.

These are great as they are specifically designed for the Nexus range so the profile is perfect.We were doing a quick make over of our landing, (eventually it’ll need a full replaster) the previous owner had put sockets on to the batten of the stud wall so the back box was very shallow. Rather than create more work by channeling out the batten or moving the socket, I bought this spacer hoping that it wouldn’t look too bad.I was really impressed the fit was perfect and it allowed me to put the same faceplates as I have in every other room, I might actually keep it rather than cut the plasterboard and install a new back.
