JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is a definitive piece of Japanese manga history. It is one of the most popular series in Japan and still goes on to this day. After many years, Part 1 is now available in the English language. This series follows the Joestar bloodline and their "Bizarre adventures". Part 1 focuses on the start of the bloodline, Jonathan Joestar and his battle against the infamous Dio Brando. Dio is adopted by the Joestar family, his goal is to inherit the Joestar fortune. Of course, Jonathan is the sole heir, Dio wants rid of Jonathan. It's an overall satisfying read. The art is slighty dated but it has a slight charm to it. As with all of Araki's work, the artstyle evolves as the story progresses, keeping it fresh. The overall quality of the book is great, the coloured pages are well done and the cover is of great quality. If you want a manga that has bizarre happenings, dramatic storytelling and iconic setpieces, then this manga is for you.

Absolutely superb. I recently started watching the anime and loved it, when I heard they were releasing the manga for part 1 and 2, I just had to get them. This is the first manga I have ever bought, and it has certainly enticed me to buy more. The new art for the cover and back is very high quality, as well as the book itself. It's got a well bound hard cover and high quality thick pages. Some of the pages are in full colour, which look stunning to say these were originally made around 30 years ago. Some pages are black and white with orange highlights with the rest being in ordinary black and white. A very good translation that's easy to read and understand, and this is coming from someone who's never read a manga before. I am definitely going to buy the next 2. The long wait for the Part 2 manga will be unbearable.

What can I say that hasn't already been said. JoJo is by far on the best and most influential manga to date. This volume itself follows the first third of part 1, Phantom Blood. The hardback cover works really well and looks great. If you're into manga or anime even a tiny bit, I highly recommend picking this up it's worth the read and worth the price. I don't want to say too much about the plot as it will give away most of the story. Just read it for yourself. Truly a Bizarre Adventure.

Pretty introductory, scene-setting without much adventure and only a smidge of bizarre.

I loved the anime and really wanted the manga because I'm starting to collect them and this is one of the best manga I've ever had, the cover feels very nice also the pages feels durable and won't destroy itself unlike my other manga, the first few pages are also in color then the rest is in black and white, overhaul a great gift for anyone and everyone!

Laßt euch nicht von den Cover-Zeichnungen abschrecken - innen ist der Zeichenstil viel besser. Die Geschichte gehört zu den Besten, die ich je las, ebenso wie die Zeichnungen ... der Anime hierzu ist perfekt kopiert :) Im Manga werden einige Zusatzinfos zu der Geschichte geboten, doch es ist nur so wenig, daß es keinerlei Auswirkungen auf den Anime hat. Klare Kaufempfehlung für alle, die gerne gut gezeichnete Action-Mangas lesen, die auch eine wirklich gute Story bieten ! (Und für Fans von sehr gut trainierten Körpern und wunderschönen Gesichtern - gerade nicht nur die Helden, sondern auch die Bösen sind wunderschön :)..) Der Hardcover-Band ist sehr wertig und auch die Bindung sehr gut - wie bei einem guten Buch kann man die Seiten aufschlagen, ohne daß der Rücken durchbiegt oder Seiten sich lösen :) Der Druck ist s/w, aber sehr wertig und klar gedruckt, auch der Einband ist stabil, wertig und fühlt sich durch die matte Oberfläche sehr gut an :) Auf jeden Fall eine Zierde in jedem Buchregal, und eine Freude zu lesen :)) Allerdings sollte man Englisch lesen können, da diese Bände keine deutsche Übersetzung sind, sondern englisch ;)) Absolut fantastisches Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis !

El anime de Jojo's Bizarre Adventure se convirtió inmediatamente en una de mis series favoritas, por lo que no me pude quedar con las ganas de leer el manga también. Sólo puedo decir que me encantó; este primer volumen lanzado por VIZ fue una muy buena reedición/relanzamiento de esta serie. El dibujo no es nada parecido al anime, sino que tiene un estilo de dibujo de su época. Y, como suele suceder, vienen algunos detalles que no salieron en la animación, lo cual me parece perfecto. Y debo mencionar que estas ediciones en tapa dura están muy bonitas. En la portada se puede apreciar Jonathan Joestar, protagonista del primer arco; en la parte trasera está Dio, el antagonista de este arco, junto a Danny, la mascota de Jonathan. En cuanto al servicio de Amazon México, excelente.
