You are able to overlay and blend them although some experimentation is required. They are best suited to working on smooth bleedproof marker paper as other forms of paper can be very absorbant and will draw out more ink than is required thus shortening their lifecycle. In this set you have 24 colours which should give you a wide and varied palette to work with. You also get a wallet to store them in.
