I have used this item for crushing lightweight lager cans on a daily basis since 29th January 2009 (6 weeks) and find it an excellent device. You do need to attach it to a strong surface though. I do not think the handle is flimsy as previously suggested. Review: Complete waste of money !!!! Rubbish !!!! Avoid !!!! - Incredibly poor build quality. I put this on the wall less than 2 weeks ago and it’s broken already. Average daily use was about 5 or 6 cans a day, mostly coke cans. Needed greasing with butter on the third day as it kept getting stuck. The arms on the handle bent within the first week, they need to be made of a thicker, stronger metal. They weren’t much stronger than the cans that they were meant to be crushing. The rivets were already loose too and they snapped today. Also needs a rubber mat on the bottom plate because the cans fly off as you depress the handle. I might buy another ( but definitely a different make or manufacturer ) as it’s a good idea and saved on the bin bags.
