BEST BOX OUT THERE + IPTV
Bought this box when it was cheaper then it is not but what a great buy, was trying all different boxes before I found this one and with a sky "gift" and a 1000gb hard drive you can't go wrong, this box also gave me IPTV so I have a xbmc box in a different room giving me every channel in two rooms when the box is not recording I can watch a channel in my bed room and my parents can watch a different channel in the sitting room I have found this box to be a lot better then, When the box is recording I can't watch anything on the xbmc side. Brilliant Linux satellite receiver
For the price this Linux satellite receiver does everything a much more expensive receiver would do, for the experienced used its easy to set up but if you dont know anything about Linux boxes a novice would find it quite hard to set it up, its a brilliant box does everything my advice just buy it for this great price .

Fantastic product, but needed factory reset
Brilliant box, does just what I expected in terms of receiving free-to-air satellite transmissions. With a little fiddling, and some help from the internet, I have a 64GB microSD card installed for timeshift & timer recording which works well. Minor niggle still to work out is that every channel comes up with the "audio described" soundtrack, rather than the normal soundtrack, but I'm sure there's a setting for it someplace ! Only thing that's a negative, when I plugged it in, it was already configured for Northern Ireland TV channels etc, suggesting the box had been out to a customer and then returned. The contents of the package also had the feeling that they'd been disturbed from their normal condition. A full factory reset sorted this out, as it then took me through the setup wizard from the beginning.

Box itself is fantastic, however first one did'nt work
Box itself is fantastic, however first one did'nt work. Returned to seller who said he had flashed box with new software (vixbox), however this didnt work (speach lag and it wouldnt play SD channels) I fixed this with a software update flash. Now the box itself is working great :-)

Zgemma box ( well worth the effort)...
I bought this box as an upgrade from the open box system, I love it. But word of warning, it is hard to configure in order to get working. I found out that this box requires two satellite cables and both must be installed or it won't work. Once you get the box you will need to flash it with some code downloaded from the net and this will make it look like a sky box. You also have to configure the clines using an FTP file server (Filezilla). Very different from an Open box. A bit of PC knowledge is needed for this part or get help... I would recommend watching some videos on a certain web site first. There is plenty of help out there if you get stuck, I'm normally quite good at this sort of thing and even I got stuck and had to walk away then come back again later. I hope this helps anyone who is thinking about buying one of these boxes, I would recommend them highly but do your research first. Thanks for reading. Mac#

Low buffer ability renders it useless
I bought this hoping it would be better than some other boxes. Ended up buying a Mag box. The buffer rate and memory of the zgemma is too low. I had to keep reflashing it weekly. Now it's sat in the drawer as I don't even want to give it away. Look at other products. I went for a Mag box and that is spot on.

Need some technical knowledge to use this and don't expect customer service!
1. Open the box. 2. take out manual. 3. Put it straight in the recycle bin because it's useless! The manual is written in chinglish and some of the instructions are impossible to decipher. The images are in VERY low quality grey scale and are dark impossible to understand. If your are a) really good at setting up these things or b) know someone who is, or c) prepared to spend many hours on Youtube trying to find videos to help, don't bother buying it. Asking the seller is no use. I asked him was it plug and play and he answered by telling me how wonderful it was! I have now got it working after several mishaps and it seems fine. My only other criticism is that the guide puts ITV 1 at channel 178 and Max at channel 3! Can't find any way to change that. Also, I have yet to figure out how to setup timeshift so I can pause programmes. I'm sure there will be a youtube video to tell me! Update. Timeshift sorted but......Found out today that several of the freesat channels that I can receive on a normal sat receiver (e.g Dave, Yesterday, pick, Quest and several others) don't work on this box. They appear in the EPG complete with the programme listings but if you select them all you get is a black screen with no sound. Tried a Google search but couldn't find a solution so emailed the seller. He replied: "I'm sorry but I'm not able to help, I sold several thousand H2S receivers and really literally several people had problems with it, please return the receiver, thank you and best regards. " Not really helpful. Total cost of delivery and return about £10. This is the second bad experience on Amazon marketplace. Won't buy anything on Amazon again unless it's from Amazon or fulfilled by Amazon.

Nice bit of kit .
Only had a while but seems a great bit of kit , relatively easy to set up . Does what you want it to do if you know what I mean if you do a bit of research to see what it is capable off . A nice remote not cheap looking as others in this type of device . I will see how it goes .
