iSpring WSP-50SL Spin Down Sediment Filter, Sediment Buster, 50 Micron | 2-in-1 Whole House Prefilter, Siliphos Scale Inhibitor, Rust and Corrosion Prevention, Flushable Reusable, Lead-Free Brass

I live full time in an RV and we find a variety of water quality, but I wanted something that wasn't a salt-based water softener to help protect my camper's water-based appliances. I installed this before the water pump so that it would also protect the pump. It draws the water up from the tank, through this device, and then into the pump, and then through iSpring's RV water filtration system - and then, finally, into our RV's various water outlets. It's well made and easy to install and was honestly trouble free and leak free. I had one of these installed in my house and I noted that even my tea kettle didn't end up with mineral deposits after I installed this unit. It's not a water softener, but it does help protect your appliances (think water heater, dishwasher, tea kettle, coffee machine, shower heads, etc.) while simultaneously filtering out larger debris that would have clogged said devices. No complaints here ... it's a nice, solid unit. Maybe the mounting hardware could be more solid ... I have to admit, that for an RV where you are bouncing and jouncing, you don't necessarily want your plumbing devices to be resting on top of a pair of arms. I used zip ties to fasten it to the arms, but that feels a bit bailing twine and chewing gum for my taste. It doesn't replace a nice solid mounting bracket - which is what I wish this came with. It's still a purchase that I would do again.

This is a surprisingly "beefy" little unit - heavy duty glass container with heavy brass top and well constructed filter which is fairly easy to clean. Simple and straight-forward installation which was quite easy (they even provided some Teflon Tape!). Overall, I'm very impressed with this unit so far and will buy another for my camp house assuming I've encountered no problems after 3 months constant use (only been 40 days since I installed this). I installed this unit ahead of my cartridge filters and there is no doubt in my mind that it will significantly extend their life based on the amount of contaminants/sediment it has already prevented from reaching them - UGH!!!. I purchased the unit with the "Siliphos" filter because I have EXTREMELY hard water and the "Siliphos balls" inside the filter are supposed to help reduce hardness. I can't honestly say just yet how effective they are in reducing hardness and scale because I believe this might take some time to truly be effective. I'll update this aspect of my review after 90 days or so use.My only complaint with this unit is that I wish a mounting bracket were included or at least available for purchase to support it. There's no issue if you are installing it in rigid piping of any kind that is properly supported on either side of this unit BUT if that is not the case and one or both sides are connected to flex piping, the installation doesn't appear as neat and professional. I've not experienced any leaks so far, but it is a concern in the back of my mind over time as the piping is already sagging and I'm trying to determine the best way to support it (ie; can't strap pipe directly to the wall because you need room around the filter to be able to use the supplied wrench to remove the filter canister. I'll add some photos of my solution for this (assuming I find one).

It worked well! I can see how dirty the town water is, and this filter can get rid of most of the sediment. I ordered a 50 micron one but my faucet didn't run smoothly. I emailed them, and Francis got back to me very quickly. He told me the 50 micron is possibly not compatible with the sediment volume and sizes in my water, thus 100 or 200 micron may resolve the issue. That is true, my water pressure is back to normal after I changed to a 100 micron mesh filter. Good product and awesome team.

Leaks occasionally at the drain port. The nipple/spout is loose and this is how it is designed. I have purchased 2 over the past few years. Overall I am pleased with the product and use it along side their other filters for my home well system.

Does exactly what i need it to do no leaks no cracks

I was a little skeptical when I first received this product and installed it ahead of a 3-stage filtration system & UV-light treatment tube, but after a month of use I am impressed with how well this filter works! I made sure to properly tighten & seal connections to prevent leaks, based on other reviewers’ experiences. It does a great job of filtering out sediment and other crap from our well water, and it is very easy to clean.Because of its smaller size, I clean it once a week to ensure best performance and proper water pressure. We have a 1-inch water line and it does handle volume quite well as long as its kept clean. Cleaning takes about 10 minutes total, as I use an old soft-bristled toothbrush and clean water in a bucket to clean it on-site, and the total time includes time to de-pressurize the supply line.This product is very well built and easy to service; I highly recommend it to anyone with a well or questionable water supply. Just be prepared to clean it every 1-2 weeks, depending upon your water quality; but in spite of this, it is worth it when you see how much clearer your water will be.

This review is for both:1) iSpring WGB32BM 3-Stage Whole House Water Filtration System and2) iSpring WSP-50SL Reusable Whole House Spin Down Sediment Water Filter with SiliphosI had both of these filters installed on 12/14/2018 so they have been in use for about 13 months.I am on well water and have replaced the WG32BM filters twice on it at ~7 month interval. On WSP-50SL, i have replaced about 6 times. <= Replacement depends on if i noticed a significant pressure drop.A few additional comments:1) I am using WSP-50SL as Stage1 filter with 50micron filter. WGB32BM serves as Stage2, 3 and 4.2) System itself is solid and i have no complaints for it is intended to accomplish. With that in mind, installation is key; I had them professionally installed by a reputable plumber.3) Customer Support: After installation, i noticed a leak from one of the filters from the WGB32BM - the red button to release pressure. Customer support was quick to reply on how to address it: it was just a lose screw which was easy to tight.In addition, i recently wanted to get a replacement for the o-rings and spare housing just in case i damage while replacing filters.I spoke to Nick at 123 filters and he was great and prompt in providing me replacements without any charge. That is great customer support !4) Good thing about WGB32BM is that it takes standard filters and you can adjust according to your needs depending on the quality of your water5) The key benefit for me for WSP-50SL is the easy to replace "filters". I had ordered about 24 of them which should be good for atleast 2 years or so.

This thing is awesome! if you have a well, get one, and use it.

In June 2021 we installed the iSpring's WGB32B full house water system along with their Spin Down filter (WSP 50 Micron) and UV Light (UVF55) at our family cottage. We have experienced quite a significant change in water quality since this system has been installed (almost 18 months now). Everyone in the extended family who use the cottage all are totally impressed with the fantastic taste, no Sulphur smell, and reduced hardness of the water now, i.e., no more bottled water needed! This includes our elderly parents who had many negative effects from the original well water and now they love the water at the cottage – they say it is even better than their city water. An additional benefit of this new system is that there is no more staining of the kitchen and bathroom fixtures (i.e., sinks, tub, and toilet). As for iSpring's customer service, they are top notch (thanks again Francis). They were very helpful in our original investigation/design questions, responded very quickly with an issue of a broken filter during shipping (they expedited us a new filter right away), and gave great support figuring out a low water pressure issue (which happened to be just the Spin Down filter getting dirty … and with iSpring's help we were able to easily clean the filter and get the pressure back to normal – I guess we used to always just drink that well sediment before; yuck). Note, as a DIYer with some past DIY plumbing experience, this system was a very straight forward and easy install. Remember to install a flow meter at the exit of the system so you can keep track of how much water is going through to know when to change the filters (i.e., 100,000 US gallons). We always recommend this system to anyone we know who is looking for a similar great water supply solution.

Bought this as the first stage of a whole home filter unit, this is primarily just to keep large particles from getting into my water softener and it works well. I did not notice any pressure drop when using it on 3/4” copper mainline into my house and it does build up with scale etc that comes in m[from my utility. I like it.

Excelente filtro, fácil mantenimiento y lo mejor es que se puede detectar cuando se acumulan sedimentos, el filtro es lavable permitiendo manter limpio el sistema. Es cierto que el costo es mayor que un filtro normal, pero los beneficios son mucho mayores, una buena compra.
