Is it really translucent?

It's definitely got a nice, translucent finish to it once it's baked - you won't notice it beforehand.

Will this still be translucent if mixed with another solid color?

I mixed mine with a very small bit of another color and it still came out looking like glass. That was the effect I was after. I used it a while ago though so can't remember exactly.. It wasn't as translucent, the effect i was going for was sea glass and it worked well.
