Q: how do you place it? do you need to buy anything with it to keep it in place? i'm buying for a 2007 colorado. would it fit?

It would not fit for our 55 Chevy because shifters right in the center of the floor so you could not shift. I’m gonna try on a 70 Chevy pick up because the shifter is on the column.

Q: How does it stay stable?

It has a seat belt attachment but honestly, I used it the first couple of weeks without attaching the seatbelt and it stayed in place just fine.

Q: Do the drinks lean forward?

No but they lean sideways. Towards the center. The cup holes need to be closed off a little more in the middle to keep the cup upright. Hope this helps.
