easy on my knives, but needs finishing touches
I bought this board after reading a bunch of articles that mentioned Acacia wood is one of the best materials for cutting boards. While I don't regret my purchase overall, there are a few things worth noting before you shell out $80+ for this board....Pros:- It's a long grain v. end grain board. Research shows that long grain boards are easier to keep clean and sterile than end grain boards.- It's beautiful eye candy for home chefs.- Easy to care for. I oiled it 3 times over the course of a week prior to first usage. Depending on how often you use it, oiling it once/month thereafter should keep it well conditioned.Cons:- Right out of the box, it had a slight warp. It's not wildly noticeable visually, but certainly a board this thick and for this price point shouldn't have that defect.- Finish. Other reviewers noted that the finish wasn't as clean as it should be for an $80+ board. It was planed, but not sanded well. This was easily remedied by using fine grit, then super fine grit sandpaper with my palm sander. However, consumers shouldn't have to complete the manufacturer's job by finishing the board surface prior to using.Final verdict - this board is easier on my knives than plastic boards, but for the price point I expected better quality. If you don't mind putting a little bit of work on this board, then click the "buy now" button.

Great board--both utilitarian and gorgeous.
I have to round this up to five stars except to note that it may be cumbersome for someone to clean it in the sink because it is so heavy and sturdy. I only use the board for prepping dry foods like breads, hard cheeses, and such. I use a food safe oil for woods to maintain its antimicrobial barrier. I'm extremely pleased with the product.

Quality and craftsmanship
I was debating getting this or the William Sonoma double sided cutting board. Oh, I'm so happy I went with this. It is a very sturdy and heavy cutting board. I love the dark wood color. The only reason I am rated it a 4 out of 5 is that there was a little damage when it arrived.

Not up to standard it should be.
For the price this product is....it does not rate. There was a sticker on front which left hard to remove residue. Plastic packaging left sticky residue on side. It almost feels like old stock to me.Black marks on front not able to be removed. Corners not well formed especially one which made the board more rounded than square. It's not first quality and should not command the price they charge.

Soild, strong counter top board!
Love this chopping board. So thick and heavy. No sign of warping at all, even after extended use. Board comes up nicely if you need to oil it.It sits on my counter and makes quite the conversation piece! It's expensive no doubt, but worth the extra money imo to have a quality product.

Solid Looking Cutting Block
Great solid cutting block however slides around on my stone benchtop so some rubber or silicone pads would have been a nice touch.
