Studor 20297 Maxi-Filtra Septic Tank Drain Vent Two-Way Active Carbon Filter, 3- or 4-Inch Connection

Had a new tank and soak away install but have been getting an eggy smell the closer to the vent you were, had the tank inspected and it is working fine so the smell was nothing to worry about in that regard but it was off putting when in the garden, after installing this to the top of the vent the smell has gone and has not yet returned - took 5 mins to install and the results were immediate, would definitely recommend if anyone has similar vent smell - do get it checked before hand though as smells can be in indicator of potential issue 👍

It simply works, had all sorts of experts reviewing the treatment plant all suggesting expensive fixes, £40 later it no longer smells. I noticed on a previous poor rating commented by one person he said it allowed the smell back into his house? We had our house plumbed in incorrectly and they fitted dergoes inside. We had to have them all taken out due too letting the odours into the bathrooms, major problem. This may of been his problem as well. Hope this helps him. Great product and a cheap fix. Seems to work well. Since we fitted it the dreadful smells we were getting in the bathroom have stopped and there's barely any smell down by the septic tank at all.

We have had an overpowering stench from a septic tank since we moved into this property. We are the last in the line of a number of properties on a country estate. The smell was overpowering at times even if we were sitting in the garden you knew when someone had run waste water down the line. I fitted this filter and instantly the problem was cured. It was easy to fit and even when I was up the ladder on top of the vent pipe where the original cowl was fitted the smell was foul. The minute this new unit was fitted the smell disappeared. 100% recommend this unit if you have a similar problem

The filter is a good product and works well. Filter is expensive for what you get but there are no alternatives.
