The Studor 20297 Maxi-Filtra is a bi-directional active carbon filter designed to fit 3- or 4-inch septic tank and lift station vents. ## Description

The Studor MAXI-FILTRA is a two-way vent which  Philtres air in both directions. It is designed for outdoor used only on  septic tanks and lift stations. It is UV rated and comes with a  replaceable carbon Philtre to eliminate bad Odours.
The MAXI-FILTRA is for outdoor use only,  particularly for use with septic systems, but can also be installed on  existing open vent pipes and in systems in which air admittance valves  (AAVs) are installed.The MAXI-FILTRA, as part of the Studor System  eliminates sewer gases from entering buildings or polluting surrounding  areas.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: We have two holes in our old concrete septic tank for vents. Will this product be the best for both? Do we need an air admittance valve either/ or?**
A: Provided the two holes are at the top of the septic tank and they will accommodate a pipe of a diameter specified in the product description, you should not have any problem fitting the product to one or both of the vent holes. As the Studor Maxi-Filtra is a two way vent I cannot see the need for an air admittance valve. Hope this helps.

**Q: Could this be fitted horizontally, onto an existing, rectangular opening vertical pipe I wonder...?**
A: I don't think it would as the unit is a round fitting.  I don't know how you could make a tight seal all around it and your existing rectangular pipe

**Q: Would this work on a cesspit vent pipe?**
A: Yes I think it should. We fitted ours to a vent pipe on the patio with the tanks beneath and works great!

**Q: Does this include the fittings for attachment to 100mm Vent pipe. The brochure on their website shows that fitting is possible, but is it included?**
A: The Studor Maxi Filtra will fit 75mm, 90mm and 110mm dia pipe, fitting is included.

I’m impressed. We have lived in the countryside for more than a decade and at times have had to deal with the occasional whiff from the septic tank, especially if the washing machine is running. Eventually, I looked into how to reduce the smell and a carbon filter was recommended.Since it has been fitted, for over a week now, I have not smelt the septic tank once! The unit was very easy to fit and looking at how it went together, I imagine that the carbon filter part is very easy and simple to replace when the time arises.Very satisfied with my purchase.
