Ideal Guitar Stand
This guitar stand is very solid and I have no qualms using my Gretsch on it when on gigs. The soft parts are supposedly "safe" to use with "most" guitar finishes. Not sure exactly what that means, but it shows the manufacturer has taken this area very seriously when designing the product. As my guitar is finished in poly and not nitrous I am relaxed, plus I don't use it at home as my guitar stays in it's case. If you are concerned about a reaction with your guitar's finish it's easy to wrap some cotton cloth around the contact parts. What I can say about this stand is it is sturdy, is not going to topple over even with a really heavy knock, folds up easily for carriage, looks good, and for what you get the price is good.As I have only had this for a few months I can't say how long it will last. It's not usually the big parts that go, it's often a small non-replaceable component that breaks first. Time will tell, but it does seem well built. My only complaint is that a carrying bag is not produced by the manufacturer, and I can't seem to find anything out there suitable either - unless I want to pay a lot more the the cost of the stand! Maybe a minor point, but a bag does help protect the stand when not in use.

wow
This is money well spent. I'm going to get another one soon. I find you get more practise in when you don't have to take them out of their cases constantly. Very good quality and easy to set up and take down. I was going to say assemble but it works straight out of the box no parts to loose or anything like that, Really happy with this, get one if you need a stand, it will give you confidence to drop the guitar in and not worry about it it's that stable. I was skeptical about the tripod legs I thought the A frame might be better(with the neck support naturally) I might have gone for one of those ones, they're more expensive and bulkier too, this is nice and neat, the guitar is presented really well on it, it's portable although I'm a bedroom musician only but nice to know you can take it anywhere with you if need be.

top quality stand!
i just bought a Jackson King V and was worried how it would fit on a stand with its pointy shape! this looked ideal and can tell you after receiving it is! it is great quality and very easy to set up. you can adjust its height and my V sits snugly in it with the ends of the V off the floor and resting against the foam legs. the head sits securely in the top support. i was a bit concerned when ordering that it held the guitar up by the neck. didnt think that would do much good to the guitar but neednt have worried as rather than the guitar hanging it kinda leans back against the stand so no real strain on the guitar neck at all. also the logo 'ultimate stand' looks cool facing the front! its a great stand.. looks good and very well made and ideal for your flying V or any other wild shape for that matter!

Hangin' tough
Very easy to use/adjust. I use it for long- and short-scale basses. I particularly like the way the rear leg is longer than on most other stands, making it much more stable (others can be susceptible to falling at 10 or 2 o'clock). It loses a star because it isn't perfect - the joint below the extension bar is fixed by a single, small rivet, which allows it to wobble a little when there is no weight pushing down, and which, I suppose, could potentially shear. Having said that, I would buy again if the missus ever let me get another guitar...

Guitar Hang
Arrives folded in a smallish box. Unlock the orange base lock, spread the legs, lock it back, adjust the height using the orange tube clip and away you go... Simple stand to erect and use. It has a piece of rubber to retain the guitar neck in the slot but since it's angled backwards this is not essential. It seems solidly made. They claim the materials used are nitrocellulose friendly - good news to Gibson Les Paul players. I am using a non-chambered Gibson Les Paul which is very heavy and this stand supports it with ease. I like it enough to buy another one...EDIT: As my guitar collection grows, so does the number of stands I need. Just got a Yamaha NCX900R electro-classical guitar. Thing about this stand is that it fits almost any guitar or bass guitar - one stand for all. It's also shown itself to be very reliable and stable. Tripods are very stable. I use them for my cameras.

Love it. Well worth the extra money.
BUILD QUALITY:Everything about this stand (Legs, body, head rest and locking devices) are solid and designed to last.Rubber neck strap could possibly have been a bit thicker, though it's adequate for purpose, and the guitar is held so firmly by the neck yoke, that the strap is really not required anyway. Clips back neatly along the yoke when not in use too.Folds away to a nice 54cm length, for transportation.STABILITY:I've tried knocking it over with harder knocks than I expect it to receive, and it just won't go. You'd need a child to run full into it before it would fall over.APPEARANCE:Better than it looks in the picture on here.

Sturdy and folds down well
I've decided there is no perfect portable guitar stand but this one is pretty good. It's stable, adjustable and packs away neatly on the road.

Great buy - Lots of others out there but this is the one!
I looked at quite a few cheaper ones but this is well worth the extra money (and it's not that expensive really). When collapsed it's very compact so great for taking with you or storing. When open and locked in position, it's solid, sturdy and adjustable in height, and with a small footprint to boot.Your guitar hangs from the neck in a v-shaped rubber holder which has a rubber-gate you can pull over the front. The guitar body rests on the front two legs which are covered in a high-quality foam padding.Save yourself time and money and get this! :)

Best stand I ever had.
I have three of these and I have procured two more. I love the automatic lock at the top of the neck. The wide leg stance is awesome and stable and the legs lock. I use these for my acoustic guitars. Love these stands and would recommend them to all users. My friends love to use them too. The have held Electric Guitars, Mandolins, Violins, and even a Chello or two. It will work nice for a Banjo.

Best folding guitar stand.
The Ultimate Support GS-100 is an awesome guitar stand. Only complaint is the yoke does not swivel so not optimal for asymmetrical head stocks like on a Fender Stratocaster but still seems pretty stable. Folds up quick for easy pack up. If you are looking for a compact folding guitar stand this is it. Ultimate Support recently changed the design and probably just as good as this baby but I grabbed this one before they are sold out. Now I can keep one in my gig bag. I have been a customer of ultimate support for years. They stand behind their products. Most products are guaranteed for life. I have only needed to use the warranty once and they answered the phone and sent the replacement part out that day. I had it 2 days later. Now thats service.

These are great guitar stands. Here's why....
I've used a number of types of stands and these from ULTIMATE are by far the best for home, studio and stage. In addition to the neck strap that most stands have, this one is designed with a bit of extra tilt-back to minimize the risk of forward falls. In addition, the cradle for the neck is designed as a deep V which grips the neck and further secures the instrument in the upright position. Finally, the whole thing folds down compactly and securely to easily fit in a gear bag. I use them for guitars and basses, acoustics and electrics. Good stuff.
