How much do you need in a bath tub?

depends. I used 1kilo a couple of times after a half marathon. did it help? who knows.If you think in terms of magnesium spray, that is usually 30 - 50% magnesium, in a small bottle.I would say, because of the cost, I would only use a mug or two per bath now.Now I just use a little warm water in one hand mixed with another hand full of the crystals, rub together into an oil. and cover skin.

if you put the flakes into a bath do they still sting? I am thinking 250g in or so into a half full bath not a huge amount.

I suffer from dermatitis and it sometimes stings for a couple of minutes but then is OK again, so generally not. I was advised by my nutritionist to put 225g in bath, then thereafter 450g, to soak for 30mins 3x a week. I was using Epson salts which are much cheaper, but at the minute I'm following a low sulphur protocol so can't use Epson salts.Hope that helps☺

if i use this as an oil can I apply after bathing without having to wash it off as seems to be suggested. I want to use to help with my sleep ,

I bathe in magnesium chloride and also apply as an oil immediately after bathing and not only does it help with sleep, muscle tension and arthritic pains decrease, skin is smoother and I get a wonderful night's sleep. I have not noticed any negative side effects, only positives.

Can this be used in making bath bombs?

You can use some but bath bombs are mainly bicarbonate of soda with some essential oils I would imagine they will bind well though
