I love it with one reservation
I love it with one reservation. As a cooker it is great, easy to install fitting a standard hob opening, the price is great, it looks good, the controls are easy. The reservation is that I bought this for a holiday apartment that we rent out and it is not until you read the instructions that you find a warning about pace makers, with subsequent research suggesting some pace makers are vulnerable to the magnetic field recommending that anyone with such a device keeps 60cm from the hob, not far but far enough to mean they can't use it. I find myself now with a dilemma, do I just put a warning in apartment notes or do I change it. I think for now I am so impressed with it's operation and that the surfaces remain cool, so it is child friendly unlike halogen hobs, that I will keep it with a clear warning to users and see how it goes. BUT, manufacturers need to be specific about the risks or lack of risk AND make these clear before anyone buys one. I wonder whether this should be a 4 star review based on the above, but if it were just for my personal use I would be very happy with my purchase.

Impressive value. Impressive performance.
Fast delivery, especially considering it was just before Christmas. Well packaged. Looked great out of the box. I had to cut 3mm off side of the cutout as the quoted insert size does not take into consideration the round headed screws that hold the unit together. They should be flush fitting. Terminals for connection were fine. Be aware that you need a min of 50mm clearance below this hob to allow for airflow cooling. The unit has a built in cooling fan for the electronics. You cannot have an oven or shelf tight up below it. Performance is great. Fast heating...brings pot of water to boil in less than 2 mins. Controls heat very much like a gas hob. The actual cooking area feels a bit cramped as the controls are along the front. I've been using it for 2 weeks now and it still feels a wee bit cramped. Cooks like a gas hob and the controls 0-9 take a bit of getting used to as 9=red hot 2-3=simmer etc. Heat control seems very precise. I'm well pleased with the performance and delighted with the price. How log this unbranded device lasts....who knows! So far it's a big thumbs up from me!! One final thing: when reading reviews and Q&As I noticed a number of people asking if it could be plugged in. No. Appliances that can be plugged in come with a plug attached. Cooking appliances in particular should be wired in by someone who knows what they are doing. Cook your food not your family......

Excellent purchase
The hob arrived within the delivery time and was easily installed by my electrician - it must be hard wired in not plugged. I am impressed with the cooking technology and like the safety feature of the lock. At the price it is a deal - cheaper than the big names but just as effective. It looks good, makes the kitchen look more streamlined and is very easy to clean, just use a damp microfiber cloth and polish off with a tea towel. No need for abrasive sprays. It has been admired by visitors who have all wanted to have a little play on it watching how quickly it heats up a saucepan of cold water and then control simmering, boiling etc! A great replacement for gas hob I had previously. I have now been using the hob for six weeks.

Totally in love.
The hob needs wiring directly into the cooker socket so that can be a bit of a faf if you're not sure what your doing. Be aware of the hob's depth. Ours is temporarily fitted above our old double oven whilst we renovate our kitchen. We've had to sit the oven almost on the floor to allow space. It won't be a problem when our new oven is fitted but if your not getting both do check it will fit. Having said all that... Wow! Induction cooking. Marvellous. We should all be using it. I'm amazed at its magic trickery. The hob works perfectly, cleans easily and looks fantastic. The price for this unit is unbelievable.

Great hob but failed just outside guarantee
I bought two of these but only one is still working. The other worked well for a little over a year of very light use. I was very pleased with it indeed - perfectly usable and a competitive price. However there was a quiet 'phut' noise when I turned came to use it one day - accompanied by complete failure. I had been intending to buy a third one, but because the supplier completely washed their hands of it it is now in a land-fill somewhere and I will never touch this brand again.

Very Pleased with this hob
Fitted with no issues, comes with all necessary fixings, I found the clamps couldn't be used due to the thickness of my worktop but its not proved to be an issue. Hob looks great, nice simple layout, easy to operate. As expected I had the usual issues finding out which of my myriad of pots and pans work with it and was surprised at the mixed results. I did have one pan that wouldnt work despite being allegedly compatible with induction. Speed of heating is excellent, far quicker than my previous hob, once the pan is removed the hob cools pretty quickly however there is a useful H indicator that warns you of the areas that have been in use. It will also switch itself off automatically if left idle

Good hob,great value but..............
This induction hob is excellent value and like many of this type of stove, it has great advantages over the old type electric element or the solid hotplate design. The heat is almost instant and comparable with gas. The advantage over gas is that it can be cleaned very easily. I have been using the hob for about a week and it is fine but I do some questions to ask but there is no way I can contact the seller. The package that contains the hob also has an instruction manual. There is nowhere in this manual that contains an address nor is there a guarantee. So I will use this review to ask a question. I have had used an induction hob for some time before buying this one. When switched that hob on, the hotplate heated up and if water was boiled, it boiled continuously. The Cookology hob does not boil the water continuously. The water boils, stops boiling, boils, stops boiling and so on. In other words the hotplate operates in pulses, on,off,on,off and so on. Is this how it should operate and how it was designed?
