Linux All-in-One For Dummies, 5th Edition Paperback – 27 Jun. 2014

It's an ok book, but I needed some more guidence on the more "basic" aspects of Linux, I should have realised that there would be quite a bias towards certification, and of course, there is the problem of the written word keeping up to date with the latest developments. Mind you, I did lern some stuff, so it's worth 3 stars.

not for you if you are a total novice but good if you know what it is you need to learn

This is a book with many chapters and easy to understand information. Great reccomendations on virtual machines to practice Linux without having to use your main computer.Would recommend for anyone getting their foot in the door for Linux.

I bought this for a quick introduction into LInux and found it a good read. For those wnating a good introduction into Linux I recommend this book. I do ave some computing programming knowledge and this has helped me to extend that knowledge to cover another language and operating system for the Raspberry Pi as an example.

Too complicated for this dummy

its a unix system i know this. using this book i successfully restarted the systems at Jurassic park

I am a dummy, and therefore expected this book be written for me. It is not. Maybe the writer considered anyone with less than a PhD in computer science a dummy, if so readers be warned.
