Disappointed in these bolts

The bolts arrived very quickly so no problem there. Unfortunately when I screwed them into my bed to locate my new headboard with them they didn’t screw in hardly at all. Just enough to support my new headboard but it is loose and unstable because I cannot tighten them enough to hold it firmly. Very disappointed.
