2Lを購入。スープや煮込み料理のほか、お米2合を炊くのに使っています。(蓋を開けたままかき混ぜながら沸騰5分→蓋をして弱火で13分→火を止めて20〜30分蒸らし)蓋に穴がないので少しずらした方がいいかもしれません。購入した鍋はたまたまちょっとした隙間があったので上手く蒸気が逃げてくれています。本体と蓋の内側はホーロー引き？でお米の焦げつきが少なく洗いやすいです。使い終わりは、乾燥させて外側だけ薄く油を塗って棚に飾っています。結構重いけれど美味しいご飯が炊けるし、オシャレな見た目でインテリアにもなるのでお気に入りです。

I have a wood-fired oven in my kitchen. It's a glorious appliance for making pizza, baking bread, and a multitude of other cooking adventures. I can roast a turkey, bake a bread pudding or cobblers, braise artichokes -- you name it, I've tried it...and mostly been successful. The one thing I've had trouble with is baking beans in a traditional ceramic bean pot. No matter how careful I've been....ceramic bean pots always seem to eventually crack. Apparently, the floor of my oven retains so much heat, that thermal shock has caused every pot that I've tried to crack. Until, that is, I happened on this Carcima Cast Iron Olla. It performs beautifully with no danger of cracking!The 2 liter size is perfect for a small family. I use it for baked beans, slow-braised stews and numerous other recipes. The heavy iron walls retain heat and cook whatever is in the pot slowly and evenly without any scorching. I can simply fill the pot, place it in the corner of my wood-fired oven at night before closing up the oven -- and find everything slowly simmered to perfection in the morning! Not only that, the ceramic glazed interior prevents sticking and makes clean up a breeze. A truly wonderful cooking utensil. I plan to order another in a larger size for those times when I want to cook for a crowd.

Me encanta esta olla. Parece pequeña pero es tamaño es perfecto para comidas de dos personas. Calienta y distribuye bien el calor. Un acierto.

I just received the 2 litre cast iron "olla" and it is wonderful! If you like cooking with cast iron you will love this pot. I use mine for cooking beans; excellent for slow cooking to get the best taste and texture. I am in the process now of trying to obtain both the 7 & 10 litre ollas also; would be great for anything made in a pot or dutch oven, such as chili or soups. This olla is also distinctive; you won't see it in "everyone" else's kitchen. I would highly recommend both the pot and this vendor(Hot Paella) and plan to use them in the future as they offer unique, authentic Latin products at very reasonable prices. I received it very quickly and well packaged. Their shipping rates are also VERY reasonable. I don't think you will be disappointed with your purchase.
