Maths for Practice and Revision: Bk. 5

I came across Peter Robson's maths practice and revision books by chance on amazon. My twins in yr 5 are preparing for 11+ and have used all sorts of materials by Bond, CGP, Letts etc. They are all commercially hyped up, colourful staff but slim in substance. Robson's maths is entirely different kind of beast. Its quality is hard to compare. His 5 books are very comprehensive covering all up to GCSE. Topics are thoughtfully arranged. Simplicity in presentation and explanations is deceptive. His examples and a sheer number of practice questions are carefully designed for age groups. the arrangement of topics and question types reveals a high degree of sophistication. There is nothing for lighthearted here. I understand that some dislike a distinct lack of colour or oversized writings. No, this is written by a true maths teacher in the most common way maths should be read and learnt. Robson goes above and beyond 11+ and offers maths for all who want to learn it. It will equally suit SATS and KS3. This is a must-read book set. I highly recommend it. Thanks to Robson's practice books, my children have only now begun to improve their maths skills visibly. I wish I had bought these books much earlier.

CONCISE AND OUTSTANDING BOOKS FOR STUDENTS STUDYING FOR 11 PLUS.

I have purchased all 5 books and I am absolutely in love with them. This book series is my preferred choice to teach kids, takes them from zero to 100% of the concepts. It built so much confidence in my kids' math knowledge. But very effective from age 8 onwards.

I have all five books in this series and although I bought them primarily for 11 plus practise, Book 5 largely deals with topics well above the ks2 standards. Slightly dated format but a large of topics and questions are covered. Answers are not included and need to en purchased separately.

The Maths for Practice and Revision by Peter Robson are simple and well presented in traditional style. These books are written by professional teacher keeping the concept very simple, yet very well explained. These books are different from the colour full books available in the market which have very limited practice material in them. In Peter Robson's books each page is filled with a lots of practice questions starting with basic easier questions and as you go along hese questions gets difficult to improve child's confidence. I would highly recommend these books as they are simple and well explained and filled with lots of practice questions.

Good to practice for concepts

If parents are seriously interested to enhance their children Maths Skills, I would like to ask them to use Peter Robson 1-5 series and ask child to attempt all questions in Books and make a record of their working to revise them quickly. These books are helpful for the students Year 5 and above. If any child is able to do these books completely, Maths will be no more a challenge for them.

All books 1-5 and answer book are fantastic. I bought this for my daughter to support her 11+ preparation and it's been really easy to follow. My daughter is able to follow the examples and answer the questions in the exercise which makes my job easier!
