Minwax 25555 Gloss Polycrylic Protective Finishes, 1/2 Pint by Minwax

Although I originally thought this was expensive when I bought it for a large picture, it goes a long way. So far I have used it on 2 pictures, 14 cards and 8 book markers and it looks like I’ve barely used it. I would recommend this for all Crystal art works.

Great product. It’s such a tiny pot though (like a sample paint pot) so very expensive for the volume you get. I used it as a top coat over ikea floating shelves that I’d painted with a f&b emulsion which gave it a satin sheen. It worked really well - it’s quite watery so it can leave drip marks if you aren’t careful and it dries very quickly (I had to sand down a bit and re-coat). Volume wise I used 3/4’s of the pot which gave me two coats on 2x large ikea floating shelves and 2x ikea picture ledge shelves. Great for small projects.

Very good for crafts but expensive.

I bought this as has seen it mentioned on a few diamond painting groups as great sealer. I had ordered a large custom painting to do and put on my wall so decided to invest in this to ensure a good finish. All reviews say it goes a long way and that the tub is small. The tub is definitely small as is .50 of a pint... so this was expected. I'm sure it does go a long way for varnishing or sealing a flat surface but for diamond painting... unless you have lots of money, or plan to use it for one picture, I wouldn't recommend. My picture was 70cmx40cm so not super big and I went through over half the tin. Yes, the finish is good and clear but as it has to fill in lots of gaps to seal, you use a lot! I will be using the rest of the tin on another custom but will be going back to what I was using before as it was much more affordable, if a little bit less clear.

I was surprised at the small tin that arrived but it turned out it was more than adequate for what I needed. Good stuff, but do check what the quantity looks like in a jug before you buy this small tin.

Got told this good and value for money.

Brought this to do some arts and crafts with. The product is easy to use with great results. However it’s very expensive for a little tin. Defo not worth the price. In my opinion it should be around £10-£15 price mark.

I wanted a non colouring varnish for models that I make in wood. I wanted the true colour of the wood to shine through and not be "yellowed" as certain varnishes are prone to do. It dries very quickly and I was able to work on the items within about 10 minutes. Wash the brushes out in water, couldn't be simpler. Unfortunately I have been able to find as good a product produced in the UK.

ik heb het gekocht voor fototransfer op hout. Blijkt echter niet te werken. Helaas. Kan het ook niet meer retourneren omdat ik het gebruikt heb

Great product, works as described. Perfect for a clear coat on my RC planes.

Ich benutze es für den Modellbau. Super, wenn auch wirklich teuer. Dafür reicht auch die kleine Menge die man erwirbt, aber bestimmt nicht für einen Parkettboden.
