Great bargain, very well made and looks lovely

This is a beautiful product. It really is lovely. The chalkboard needs a particular pen--- Chalk it! brand--- and is NOT a traditional chalk board... but a chalkboard-like substance that takes special pens. I had a bit of trouble with my board (why it is not a 5 star rating) but the customer service was excellent. 5 stars customer service.

I'm happy with this chalkboard, it is attractive and functional. The board isn't made from real slate but it still works as a chalkboard, just something to keep in mind if you wanted real slate. I paired it with Stationary Island chalk pens and so far so good. You'll want a damp cloth to wipe the chalk off fully rather than dry brushing like an old school chalk board.

This chalk board has a real quality feel about it that the product picture does not portray. The frame is georgous real wood. I have only used liquid chalk on my board and I can say it scrubs up well with after use. The board itself is perfectly smooth with no imperfections which gives you a great surface to create whatever you wish.You do have to screw the wall fixings into the Bach of the board yourself with a small screwdriver but is suspect this has been done to allow the greatest flexibility in fitting types as possible. However please note that they you can only screw them into the real wood frame and not directly into the back of the chalkboard.

All joking apart, I bought two of these blackboards for a wedding (yes, yes, I know) and am very impressed with the quality. They are a good size and nicer-looking than the photograph suggests - the frame is rather darker and the grain of the wood shows through nicely - not to mention rather more satisfyingly solid. Basically, it's a nice blackboard. If that's what you're after, you could do a lot worse than this.

The board looks fab, is pretty well made but, sadly, it doesn’t seem to be suitable for the liquid chalk as suggested. We purchased the same brand (Posterman) pens as sold by this supplier but it takes a whole load of elbow grease to wipe off with a damp cloth (and we still haven’t got it all off). Very glad we tried it as it’s not ideal for our wedding photo booth, we’re going to try cleaning it again shortly and stick with ordinary chalk.Still cannot remove all the chalk so probably going to repaint the product with blackboard paint and just use chalk... such a shame.

A little smaller than expected, so only good for brief messaging, but a nice size when received, not too big. Good quality chalk board
