Black Case Logic QHDC-101 Hard Drive Case

Over the years, I bought several Case Logic cases which are usually well-priced, well-built, light and durable. And they offer a good level of protection, which is the point right? Based on my experience, the QHDC-101 case is no exception. I bought it with the Samsung M3 1TB USB 3.0 Slimline Portable Hard Drive [13.5 x 8.9 x 3.8 cm] to back up my Macbook Pro. The semi-rigid exterior feels reassuringly protective and If there isn't much padding inside the case, I confirm that the elastic strap does a good job securing the hard drive which is critical when you are on the move. The other side of the case, the pocket, proves very useful to carry a few accessories like a cable or a SD card. To give you an idea of the capacity of the case, I also used it with: 1. the 'RAVPower 16000mAh Portable Charger Power Bank External Battery Pack' [12.7 x 8.1 x 2.2 cm]: it's a super tight fit, but it works (there is no room for anything else though) 2. the iPhone 6s [13.83 x 6.71 x 0.71 cm]: this could be perceived as a rather silly test, but I was just trying to use devices we are all familiar with... -I hope you will find this review helpful-

Really smart with tight woven material covering it, a strong zip,net section on left inside and thick elasticated strap to hold hard drive in place, but a little sad that the strip visible down the length of the case doesn't lift as i thought you could use to carry...that being said i have little hands and a mans hand prob wouldn't fit and you don't often walk around carrying your hard drive!! tough case although nice and slim with rounded corners which make it a bit easier to carry around as some cases feel like you are carrying a brick. I got this for my seagate 1TB hard drive which is very thin and small and it fits like a second skin.....if it had been 1mm smaller inside or my hard drive 1mm bigger it would not have fit so very very important that you get the measurements of your hard drive spot on....mine is 12cm long 8cm wide and 1.5cm thick.... you might have a half a cm to play with length (so 12.5cm) and 1cm thickness (so 2.5cm) but not much and if you want to use the net carry section inside anymore would make that pointless!!

I bought both a black and red version of this case to protect my WD My Passport Ultra 2TB portable drives and am pleased by the quality. The case feels well made and durable and also looks like it would be firm enough to protect the hard drive from damage if dropped from a moderate height or if something were dropped on it (I'm not going to test this!). Inside there is a strap to hold the drive in place and it is surprisingly firm. There's no chance of the drive sliding out even if you held the case upside down whilst open. There is a net pocket on the inside of the top half of the case to store your USB cable for the device and again this is firm enough to prevent the cable sliding out unless you shake it around. There's enough internal padding to prevent the zip (which also feels sturdy) from scratching the device, which is something I always appreciate with any kind of case. And to top it all off, it looks great when zipped shut! My only wish was that there had also been a blue version to match the colour of the hard drive.

To start off this review, Case Logic offer a lot of quality products which is one reason why I chose to purchase this. Once again, they didn't disappoint. This Hard Drive case is incredibly sturdy and offers a very ridged build which is definitely needed if it's job is to carry a Hard Drive. Inside the case you get two compartments, one for the hard drive itself and one for cables and any other accessories. The main hard drive case has an elastic strap that secures the hard drive in place which is good and will keep the hard drive still when carrying around however it will still be secure even without it due to the protected build of the case. Out of all the cases I viewed, this was the best one I could find and for the price, you can't go wrong.

Having accumulated several small format hard drives over the years ranging from a 40Gb TEAC to the latest purchase of a 1TB Hitachi Touro I thought it high time to store my drives - and the files on them - with rather more care than previously and this model of case has been just the thing to do this. In being a little cautious about the size of the case, and wanting to test what it would hold, I initially ordered a single item. The case has securely fitted all of the drives I have tried in it (TEAC, Hitachi, Western Digital - in two slightly different formats) and I was so impressed I have already purchased another. This is a very well made case by a good brand name manufacturer, the single elastic strap firmly holds the drive in place and the mesh pocket easily accommodates a standard drive lead. I have noticed that the price has varied a little on this item but at £5 to £7 this is a bargain against the high street price. Surprisingly Amazon themselves have been consistently a couple of pounds more expensive than the big marketplace sellers. Although I would normally prefer to purchase direct from Amazon the two drive cases were each purchased from different but high positive feedback sellers without any problem whatsoever. Thoroughly recommended.

I'm very impressed with the quality of this case. It seems to be well designed and thought out. I chose this case based on Amazon's "Frequently Bought Together" suggestion when purchasing the Expansion HDD. As many reviewers have pointed out the case is surprisingly small but is this, such a bad thing? I found a review which mentioned the same drive and said it fitted perfectly. Well I finally decided it does fit. I say finally as I had to decide if it was, really, too small. The drive goes in. Just. I haven't felt comfortable using sufficient force to get the drive under the strap and have simply placed it in the case and zipped it up. I'll have to be careful unzipping as one could, I suppose, fumble and drop the drive. The drive has one slopping side and thus it sits in one side of the case but is then 'upside down'. As far as I'm aware these drives aren't sensitive to being upside down. Anyway it goes in without squeezing or forcing and seems secure and doesn't rattle about. Not that I've shaken it. So I've ordered another for the other Expansion HDD.

Excellent case, well-made and reasonably priced. Has a separate compartment for cables and will hold the drive itself securely in the other half of the case. This is a semi-rigid case, so don’t expect it to protect your drive if you run over it with anything larger than a moped, but it does appear to offer good protection for day-to-day transportation of your important data. I have several drives of 1TB and this case accommodates them with ease. I’d haven’t checked, but I’d imagine that it would fit most, if not all, portable hard drives. I own several and would definitely buy more when I acquire more drives.

I'm really impressed with the Case Logic Foam Case. It doesn't seem to be 'foam' though, which is a little bit misleading - it's actually better and more sturdy than that; more like hard plastic, so I feel they're not doing themselves many favours calling it a foam Case! It fits my Samsung M3 1TB Portable Hard Drive perfectly, securely under an inch thick strip of elastic, which is well sewn in. The USB cable and two 32GB flash drives fit in perfectly under a stretchy well secured mesh which is really well sewn and good quality. The outer zip is really thick and strong, I have used it every day, zipping and unzipping since I bought it earlier this year and I am confident it won't let me down for a good few years. The colour is a really lovely dark blood cherry red too - lovely! I recommend this product for both practicality and style :)
