Informative and Quick Read
I love how the author doesn’t make it overly complicated and connects all the dots to how one can truly embrace chaos gardening and be prolific.

Great little primer for Floridians
I wanted a primer and specific plant recommendations for Florida and this ten-point - I mean chapters:), essay - I mean book(let):) delivered exactly that. The humorous, light-hearted approach made it an easy and quick read. What I appreciated most was the encouraging tone, just what I needed to hear to get going on my own project. The second thing and the true treasure chest of this booklet is the list of plants that actually grow well in Florida, suitable plants for each tier.Although I will point out that the author is wrong about Macadamia Nut not doing well in Florida, well, at least in the Tampa Bay area. I bought a grafted seedling at the farmers market a few years back and it did outstanding. I didn't realize how big it would get (8ft in 2yrs and going strong) and how viciously thorny it would be, not really a pretty bush/small tree. I planted it in the middle of my flower bed - totally wrong spot. This booklet included the author's website address which has more useful information and referred to his youtube channel - helpful and free:).If you find you want more in-depth information and you will:) you may find his personal list of garden book recommendations at his website, with short descriptions of what to expect from each book, as helpful as I have.I am starting my own project this fall and I believe this booklet will be a huge help. There are plenty of books on food forests and permaculture and using native plants, but Florida is quite unique and can be uber frustrating to garden in. After 22 years of gardening in Florida, I'm still learning. Armed with this list of suitable Florida plants from trees to veggies, I feel I found the missing information to succeed - YAY:). Of course, the designer in me is already thinking about ways to make it look good too. There will be beautiful tropical flowers whose roots are edible, like ginger and turmeric, coffee of course:), cinnamon. I want beauty and scents and medicinal plants and veggies and fruit for daily consumption. There is only one fly in the soup - every book keeps mentioning to raise chickens - I like the eggs, but, oh my:)...

Rewired my plan
We planned to clear areas for our food forest, now we are going to embrace the established forest. My favorite section of the book are the plant lists toward the back!

Excellent Primer
We started a permaculture food forest in NE Florida 2 years ago. This book is a fast read, excellent reference lists, lots of bottom-line take-always with very little fluff. Paints the big picture with inspiration. Provides a mountain of practical tips. I lived the sections on swamp and scrub area planting.

Good clean, or at least well mulched, fun.
Interesting even if you live nowhere near Florida. Having seen video of David The Good's gardens it's good to hear about the process of creating those food forests from scratch.

GREAT starting point !
I live a little farther south. the Yucatan Peninsula. Using this great resource as a jumping off point for exotics. The local food producers are well known. I want to add some spice to my eden. Great ideas to test out.
