Tools are all pretty uni-sex. **Q: Will this press work on Avid Elixir 3 brakes?** A: Exactly my problem. I took the old pads out, squeezed the brake lever to push the pistons even further out then used the tool to push them in flush. As long as you protect the pistons and the disc with some card or cloth you will be fine with a big screw driver. Sometimes you have to work it in and out to get it all the way back. The tool is roughly the right profile and provides useful leverage. The Avid Trails X0 have two pistons in each calliper so the tool is actually a bit big as it is hard to see exactly where you are applying pressure and a big screw driver may have been easier. If yours has only one piston then this may actually be better for you. Park Tools make good tools but I had wondered if I was ever going to use it then suddenly I was glad of it. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Park Brake Tool *by N***S on 18 August 2026* A great tool that saves makes resetting brake pistons super easy. Highly recommended 👌 ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great tool *by A***L on 6 April 2025* Pricey but does the job perfectly 👌 ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Does exactly what it says on the tin. *by N***N on 9 October 2018* This makes changing pads, bleeding brakes and general set up of hydraulic brakes a doddle. In the Park Tool instructions it states to push the pistons back in while the old pads are still fitted, then change the pads. I have modified my press slightly and fitted some blue heat shrink over the blade so I can use it on any pads and not have to replace them afterwards. Blue heat shrink to match the Park Tool blue theme. All in all, an excellent tool, you could use a plastic tyre lever, but this is so much more effective and gives more leverage. ## Frequently Bought Together - Park Tool Men's 57-00721 Brake Accessories, Black, One Size - Park Tool PS-1 Disc Brake Pad Spreader - Park Tool DT-2 Rotor Truing Fork --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.sk/products/48703463-park-tool-mens-57-00721-brake-accessories-black-one-size](https://www.desertcart.sk/products/48703463-park-tool-mens-57-00721-brake-accessories-black-one-size) --- *Product available on Desertcart Slovakia* *Store origin: SK* *Last updated: 2026-10-26*
