Cut them in half and placed them hanging in each tree (5). They did the job well but the glue is so strong that It managed to stick to 2 birds. I was able to remove the birds (minus a few feathers) and decided to use smaller size stripes instead. Have to say that the trees are still free of flying insect eggs which is great. The glue is now fully gone because of the dust etc but will definitely use again next year.... the pack is big enough to last me for a few seasons 😀 ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Very sticky, good size, effective for monitoring specific pests *by S***H on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 May 2018* These are quite expensive for what they are, but you get 30 good size (double-sided) sheets, which can be cut to shape as needed. They seem very sticky, and just as good or better (bigger) than other branded products I've bought in the past. The thing to be aware of with these strips is that not all flies/flying insects are attracted to yellow. White flies are, and to a lesser extent, fungus gnats, but don't think house flies and many other plant pests are particularly attracted to yellow. Not sure about aphids.. There are also blue sticky traps (less common), which are for thrips. If you have a specific pest problem would advise you find out first whether your pest is attracted to these. These are mainly for monitoring purposes, rather than total elimination, so if you have a bad pest problem, I would not expect to be able to eliminate it only using these sticky traps. Another thing to be aware of is that these might well also attract beneficial insects, and kill them, if used outside. I don't use these outdoors anyway, am using them indoors to monitor my efforts at getting rid of a really bad fungus gnat (sciarid - the little black flies you get running across compost and flying up in swarms when you disturbed) infestation. Fungus gnats do get caught in high numbers by these traps, but often, it seems more accidental than them actually being attracted. I try to limit my use of these traps anyway, as find them a very non-humane way of killing pests - the flies caught end up starving slowly while trying to free themselves.. So this packet should last me for ages.
