Amateur Radio Exam Secrets

This book was recommended to me by a friend for my exams. I have gone through it diligently, it does help, but by no means replaces the RSGB handbooks. Together they work better.I do appreciate the revision questions and the 3 sample papers in the back, the reference section is very good, it helps if you are doing mock papers at home because it has the information sheets provided in the exams.In my opinion the sample questions are harder than the papers provided on the RSGB website, so do bear that in mind if you have trouble with them. All good practice though.I am a little suspicious that some of the questions are unanswerable, they're so hard, but that could be me, they are certainly a challenge!I would recommend to get this book if you are studying for exams.

This book is really great - to anyone doing the foundation, intermediate, or advanced - I'd recommend you buy this. It covers loads of stuff that's in the other books, but it does it in a different way, so that you almost feel like you're reading new material. In some cases it goes into topics in more depth than the other books - oh, and (quite importantly) it has a load of test questions (for each exam level). If you want to pass, I'd recommend it. (Just be aware that the advanced exam changes in 2018 - so there may be a revised version of this coming soon.

This book is packed full of example questions and each section starts by reintroducing you to the subject matter by way of a short revision. I found this book invaluable with regard to my studies for foundation and I am now using it for intermediate study (which by the way is a whole new level for me..phew). To sum up you are getting three books in one if you intend going all the way.

Good book, very handy for revising, well I passed so I can't fault this. Only 3 stars because:1) it's a very old print and has (at least that I found) 2 or 3 answers wrong, which have been corrected in later editions, but not here2) it's more expensive than buy from RSGB, but.. you can get a next day delivery, so I guess you pay a little extra for this benefitCareful from September 2019 onwards though, the syllabus will change so this book will not be so handy anymore as it's based on the old syllabus

I have now passed all three exams first time and this manual helps you through. Be warned though the level of work required to pass the advanced exam is massively different than passing the previous two exams. Personally I found the first two exams quite easy and passed them without particular effort, the advanced exam is presented and studied at a whole new level and must not be undertaken lightly. To be confident of a pass I estimate I spent over 200 hours of study and a radio club cram session before undertaking the exam. Good Luck and 73's

Book is fine enough, but it's not the latest version - so it's useless for new students. Amazon didn't stock the new one at the time of me reviewing this.

I chose this book to get the heads up with what comes next on the amateur radio training.In the book there is sections that give you questions like in the exam... Answers are at the back of the book to allow you to mark your progress. This book works best with the relevant book for the level you wish to achieve and not a replacement for it ..
