Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde go to a criminal court.Like CSI.Worth watch.Ms Bridges is great, if a little, naive!!!!!

I'd rather have a traditional adaptation as I bought it for my son studying Engish Literature. This DVD is ok for those who like modern thrillers.

Great to help students studying for GCSE who are struggling with plot.

Dreadful, really. Not one of those 'low budget but a bit brilliant', no, far from it.We'd hoped for an amazing turn from the lead actor to make it credible that one person could be two radically different personalities - but it needed someone like Gary Oldman or Tom Hardy to pull it off.Failed dismally. Mediocre in every respect. SWERVE!1/10

Is this the best movie? No. Does it matter? No.I like the Jekyll&Hyde story and have watched a few different takes on the source material in my time. This is one of the few that I wanted to buy and own for myself. It's well acted, even if the script does turn into a court room drama for some reason, which you should enjoy, especially if you liked movies such as Primal Fear, which, like this movie gives you 5 shots of court for every bit of action there is.It's not boring, I was entertained throughout this whole film and the problems I have with it are tiny and not really enough for to ruin the movie. For instance, the decision to make Hyde a slightly ott English guy (compared to Jekylls normal American) jarred in a couple scenes for brief moments but generally I found him to be fun. Dougray Scott's American accent isnt terrible (in my opinion) it's just hard to notice sometimes, especially if you're not paying close attention. I was on my second viewing before I realised he was meant to be American.The ending of the courtroom scene feels like an easy copout and the twist ending might mildly surprise you the first time round but you'll probably see it coming a mile off.For all it's flaws, it's still one of my favourite portrayals of the Jekyll/Hyde story. A good movie so long as you don't take it too seriously or expect everything to make sense.

THE DIRECTOR RUSHED THIJNGS RATHER

Dougray Scott makes this film. His presence both as the brooding Dr. Jekyll and as the menacing Hyde are front and centre, steals every scene. Tom Skerritt helps out in the role of confidant and friend (Utterson?). I especially appreciated the lack of "classic" horror, blood and/or outrageous make-up. No camp here. Direction is muted and the film evolves on its own merit and plot, with the help of solid actors anchoring it. Krista Bridges is OK, but weakest of the principals - Hyde definetly got to her. Great conclusion. Very cool stuff.

I loved Dougray Scott in Hallmark's version of Aladdin, and I'm very into Robert Louis Stevenson at the moment, so I bought this as a chance. Couldn't stand it for even five minutes. The Jack the Ripper style brutalizing of a prostitute right off in the film was too horrifying for me. Aw, Dougray, how could you have lowered yourself to this?
