Good bug jacket
It's November at the time of my review, and the mosquitoes are gone in my neck of the southeastern US for the time being (they'll be back...unfortunately, they always come back). So my review for now can only be based on my initial thoughts until I update it after field testing it next skeeter season. As other reviews have mentioned, it's very large, although I get why. Unless they want to produce multiple sizes, a one-size-fits-all has to cover a wide variety of body sizes. You might be 5 foot 2, but I'm 6 feet even with freakishly long arms and a long torso. The next person who needs this item might be 6' 6", who knows. The drawstrings do help make it a little more personalized to your specific size, although I would say for shorter folks, I can certainly see how this may be comically large right out of the bag. Heck, it fits big on me too until I tighten down those drawstrings, and while I'm not a giant by any means, I'm not small either. The mesh seems to be of good quality, and there are a lot of customizeable features, such as the aforementioned drawstrings and zippers (want a hood? Don't want a hood? Zipper is there for you). But speaking of the zippers, those could have been a little better. I feel very afraid to repeatedly zip & unzip them. I'm going to run it fully zipped up and leave it that way :)There is a slight (not overwhelming though) plastic-y / chemical-y smell to it, but I'm hoping that dissipates after airing out for a while.Initial impression is that this will work well for what I need it for come spring and summer down south. Admittedly, while I'm not immune to mosquito bites, overall they don't love me. Blood type? I'm not quite sure why that is. But my wife will be the ultimate test, they LOVE her. I’ll update after I suit her up and send her outside next year; if it passes that test, then I'll consider this to be a miracle item.

Could be better but does the trick.
The head portion of this could be so much better, specifically if they used a hood vs whatever this zipper across the chest thing they have going on is. Heck it would actually be better if there wasn’t a zip at all the way they have it. All they have to do to make this 10 times better is use a reverse hood, so like a hoodie but would hang in the front so that the zip wouldn’t be in front of your face. Wonder if they’ll send me a consulting fee lol!

Came with a hole in it.
Way to big, came with a hole. Ugh

Best money you can spend if you live among black flies or mosquitoes!
If you live in, or a visiting, an area that has black flies or mosquitoes then you want one of these jackets for everyone you are with. I love the Adirondacks but from April through June each year you are plagued by these tiny pests. Black flies leave a nasty bite and a large welt on your skin, they are relentless! Black flies are prevalent in all of the northeastern states with mountains and lakes from NY to Maine. In addition to black flies, we are blessed with mosquitoes which I happen to be allergic to. Mosquitoes are a problem all over so one of these jackets would be a blessing to help protect you anywhere they exist. The wrists, hip area, and around the edges of the hood contain bungee type cording to pull tight and prevent these pests from burrowing under any open space to get at you…as I said, they are relentless!

Works, but big
As others have said, it is big. Pull over like a poncho, zipper to pull back hood. Can cinch up wrist area. Covers down to almost my knees. Wear a bucket hat, and will help keep off head and face more. I'm happy with it, and grateful for what it does.

One Size Does Not Really Fit a 5’5” Woman, But I Wish It Did
The mosquitos in my yard drive me crazy in summer, so I thought I’d give this a try. Ignoring the size issue for now, there are definitely things I like: the mesh is comfortable against my bare arms; the hood holds the mesh off my face; and visibility through the mesh face protection is great. I’m not sure how I would use the front zip pocket normally, because I wouldn’t want to put anything very heavy in it, but I folded the jacket up and packed it into the front pocket for storage by turning the pocket inside out with the jacket inside. We are mercifully done with mosquitos in our area for the year, so I can’t offer myself as a sacrifice to them for this review, but I do think this mesh would work to keep the bugs away.Unfortunately, it’s clearly not sized correctly for someone like me. I’m a 5’5” woman and “one size fits most” doesn’t really fit me. The fit is more like a poncho on me with the hem falling nearly to my knees. The sleeves are comically large – almost an extra foot in length without the drawstring cinched. I can pull my hands entirely inside the sleeves to protect them if I’m not using tools, so that might be helpful, but most women would be better served with something smaller.I should also mention that the jacket had an odor like bug spray when I first pulled it out of the bag, but an afternoon outside on the patio has fixed that. If you are someone whose size is more appropriate for the fit of the jacket, then I think you might be happy with it.

Wish I Had This On My Last Holiday
I went to Belize last January and I wish I had this then. I went on a hike and had to turn back because I was was afraid that the mosquitos were going to carry me off! I lost count of the bites I got...and I was really sad that I didn't get to go further. This will get packed in my travel gear for all future adventures. It's lightweight and doesn't take up any room yet it covers everything from the hips up. And for the woman who thinks this will be good for Yellow Jackets...it may protect your face but they will be able to sting through the mesh...it's really not made for wasp nest removal...just saying :)
