The 44mm/42mm is the watch size. I have a 8-3/4"-9" wrist and I still have about 3/4" to 1" more strap. I sat this on a straight ruler and folded it at 7". I would say that is the lower wrist size limit before the strap end overlaps the watch face itself. I hope this helps.

Q: Any way to get an xl version? i nee a couple more inches of band so i can actually wear it.

I have what I consider to be large wrists. I have to use the larger size of every Apple Watch band. My wrist measures at 8" around, and I still have about 2" of band left over when I wear this one.

Q: Can the apple connectors be removed?

Meaning the piece of the band that connects to the watch itself? I'm gonna say no. The stitching you can see in the pics is pretty heavy duty; if you popped that stitching to remove the connections you'd destroy the band.

Q: What is the strap width? 1 inch or 1.25 inch?

The straps are 7/8” wide, according to my tape measure
