**Q: One reviewer stated that this wall lamp did not come with fittings to attach it.  Is that correct?**
A: This is not my experience. The installation instructions are downloadable from the Philips website and are pretty clear. A PVC circular box is screwed to the wall, then the fitting covers the box completely and screws into the box with machine screws. Two points to note: one bulb has already blown - try to get a "rough service" GLS bulb which has a thicker filament. The other fitting is near to the gas boiler flue and turns on if the wind blows the warm flue gas past the sensor. Doesn't bother me but may be annoying to neighbours.

**Q: Can you set this to sensor mode only...rather then it staying on all night cab i just come on when detects movement**
A: Yes's, on the bottom bit, where the sensor is, there are two dials, they look like plastic screws. One adjusts for how dark you want it before it comes on and the other is how long it stays on for.

**Q: What's the best screw fittings to buy for this? Annoying they are not in the box!**
A: I used a size 6 drill bit and wall plugs and screws to match (fitted into a brick wall), the lamp isn't heavy so you shouldn't need anything larger. I too expected a little pack with plugs and screws for fitting.

**Q: For those who had this for more than a year now, can you please tell me if the paint is fading?**
A: The metal seems to oxidise and the black paint flakes off after a couple of years

I bought this to replace a faulty stainless steel up and down light. It's subjective but I think this one looks much better.The light is from a known brand and is very well made. It has a PIR detector so that it only comes on when the ambient light level is low, and it detects movement. It requires a large Edison screw bulb (not supplied) with a maximum wattage of 60 W. I've used a 9 watt LED bulb, which gives plenty of illumination and is a 60 W equivalent. Inserting the bulb simply requires unscrewing two screws to remove the cover.The light fitting is mainly made of die-cast aluminium, painted white, with a clear plastic lens. The part that screws to the wall, the back plate, is plastic with a rubber gasket. This contains the wiring, there's not a lot of room, but more than in other light fittings I've had.The electrical connection is made to an electrical terminal strip and is easy to wire up with clearly marked connections (although the neutral is marked with an 'X'). The instructions are relatively clear but are in the form of pictures rather than words.To fit it I found it was easier to disconnect the existing wiring from the terminal block in order to remove the lamp body (make a note of where the 3 wires are connected to). This is then easier to position where to fix it to the wall without the lamp body hanging down. Also, I taped the back of the two bolts so that they don't fall out.Important: Ensure that the power is turned off.There are no fixing screws, but I had two suitable wall plugs and screws. There are two recessed holes in the back plate, and these need to be drilled for the fixing screws. It is important to ensure that the back plate is truly vertical because there is no adjustment once screwed to the wall. After reconnecting the internal wiring and wiring up to the mains, I tested the light to ensure it came on. I then mounted the light onto the backplate, being careful not to disturb the gasket, which is held by two domed nuts with washers. These are very small and it is a little tricky to screw them on without dropping them, particularly if on a ladder. However, once mounted, the light fitting is secure.I was initially disappointed that the light no longer came on after the fitting was mounted, but decided to leave it until the evening, when it was dark, before checking the wiring. When I tested it then the light came on and everything worked perfectly.There are two adjustments on the side of the detector, one to set at what ambient light level the light will come on at, and I presume the other is to set the period of time that the light stays on for. I may have to fine-tune these settings but the current ones seem to be fine.I'm very pleased with the light, it is superior to the one it replaced and gives out more than adequate illumination. The current Amazon price is very competitive compared to elsewhere.

This is a good quality product, very well made, and looks the part. In all good value for money.It is easy to install and the instructions are good enough even for the a novice DIYer to do themselves.I did look though the questions and reviews before buying, but not deep enough. This light has adjustable sensors for Light/dark - in that when the sensor is active and will light, so you can easily set it to be a dusk to dawn security light. It also has a sensor for the time the ight stats on once he motion sensor is triggered. However it does not have a motion sensor sensitivity adjustment. One question said that they had set it to about 4 metres, however this is not possible. If you live on a busy street this light will come on often as the motion detection is very good. Mine is always coming on. I am slightly disappointed with this as this is not what I wanted. It is a good deterrent through for any would-be burglar. I then went through the reviews and questions again and see that there are more posts that confirm this fact.
